Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Hobbits  by GamgeeFest 6 Review(s)

Sorry to be reviewing so late - hobbits are indeed very inspiring! :) It seems natural to me that Elves would also like to be barefoot. Elrond's words to Gandalf about not minding being around the wizard's bare feet was cute. Love most though Pippin's remark about Sam: "he's a spy you know!"

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: For some reason, I didn't get an email notice for this review. I'm glad I found it!

I think Elves would enjoy being barefoot too. They just needed a reminder. ;) Elrond doesn't mind what Gandalf's feet look like - he doesn't *have* to look at them after all - but scents are not so easy to ignore.

hehe Sam was counting on Pippin's paranoia, as Sam was clearly not hiding in wait but had gone to fetch some much needed towels and beg assistance of the elves in cleaning the mess. ;D

Thanks for reading! :)

I jumped for joy when I realized you'd posted another story and ran headlong over to SOA to read this chapter. Poor Pippin didn't stand a chance, did he? And glad to see that Sam was smart enought to stand clear of the fracas. Plus honey bombs, fragrant Gimli, etc. Your imagination ran amok and gave me many laughs!

Author Reply: Pippin was outnumbered and outmatched - by two very ticked off cousins! He did the smart thing by turning himself in right away, otherwise Frodo and Merry would have had more time to think up an even more elaborate pay back! Sam avoided the honey bomb by mere luck, and avoided the rest by good hobbit sense.

Thanks for reading! Glad this gave you a few laughs! :D

You've done it again! I so enjoyed Elrond's speech on the joys of being without shoes and Pippin was, as ever a complete riot! Brilliantly done! I'm still laughing at Merry for wanting to tell Elrond exactly what 'he could say.'

Author Reply: I can't fathom why some people go around all day long in shoes. I hate having to wear shoes for too long. It's about time the elves learned the joys of going barefoot! ;)

Pippin really put his foot in it this time. heh! Good thing Frodo was there to hold Merry back, or someone might not have lived to see the start of the Quest. ;D

LOLOLOL! Oh, I do love all the puns! "Danger afoot" indeed! And Gandalf's advice about humoring hobbits.

Poor Pippin! I wonder who that honey bomb was actually intended for? He was very careful not to say who when he told Gandalf, Elrond and Erestor of his mishap!

Author Reply: I couldn't think of more puns, otherwise, I would have used them, I assure you! Perhaps it's a good thing I couldn't. ;) Gandalf has been around more hobbits and for a lot longer than the elves. He would know about the necessity of humoring hobbits. They can be so single-minded after all. :D

Pippin had a rather adventerous start to his morning. Perhaps he couldn't say because his intended victim was in the room with him? ;) This incident could be why he and Merry decided to use poor Lindir as their patsy in the following chapter. *hinthint*

Ah--when Pippin's involved, expect about anything? And who was his intended victim, then, and will that one end up getting doused anyway? Heh!

Author Reply: Pippin does start his share of trouble. He just can't help himself, being smack in the middle of his tweens. :D Well, if you remember the following chapter and the pranks Merry and Pippin put poor Lindir up to, you should be able to guess who Pippin's intended victim was - and alas, he still hasn't gotten him! ;)

“Bilbo had many reasons for naming Frodo his heir. Their shared wiliness was but one of them.”

Love it! Oh, this is a marvelous sequel. Hobbits certainly are inspirational and infectious, as well as charming, unforgettable, and wonderful. *beams*

Author Reply: Thank you dear! Hobbits are all those things, and more. The elves will miss them once they're gone. I doubt they've had this much excitement in Rivendell in decades! :D
