Ah, well told indeed. Yes, well told, and we know that one survived, there in Cirith Ungol, where perhaps she might have herself hatched.

Oh, dear--Elrohir had been cocooned WITH eggs? And here comes one of the mothers, from the sound of it! How terrible! At least the starwater destroys the eggs! And love the black humor.

Ooh! Suitably creepy, and now the twins are taken! Hurry, Haldir and the others--find them! And food for spiderlings? There's an eggsac somewhere nearby? Time to find them indeed!

Of course Earendil's grandsons would do this! What else, or who else would have dared?

Being rather greedy in its assaults on elves, not it doesn't appear to argue at the dinner table! Heh! But love that she has learned to capture light, and we know how well such a phial served our Frodo and Sam.

So, is this how she learned to capture the light of Earendil for Frodo's starglass?

Oh, I love it when she worries that he's too compliant at the suggestion he rest. How he must in the end have hated losing her to the Undying Lands! As for Algarin, I find I quite like him.

"And if Angaril were fortunate, Elrond would not reward him with a promotion...wonderfully appealing compared to what he had been dealing with for the last few weeks." LOL! I really got to like this guy. And Thrandornen! "...ITS babies?" OO, daddy! Fun story, Ellie. I enjoyed the inclusion of the aftermath and your playing on the fact that the Eldar ain't dat wise 'bout ever'thin. :) For She is waiting... Author Reply: THank you very much! Angaril just showed up out of the blue in the story and he was a great guy to write about. I saw Thandronen on some webpage of photos of elves from Two Towers and liked him and his twins so I had to find room for them in a story at some point. They fit quite nicely into this tale. I'm glad you enjoyed this tale. I've never before written antyhing that folks have consistently called "fun". Now I need to figure out how I did it so I can write something else "fun" at some point. hmmm... Thanks for reading and reviewing and pointing things out and enjoying!

Poor Angaril! Getting bitten at the last moment must have been excessively irritating - although I'm with Haldir! It's a good way to get out of having to tell Elrond about the actions of his sons. I loved seeing Elrond resting with his head on Celebrian's shoulder - and I suppose the twins' recklessness did have some positive outcomes. I enjoyed the ending with Shelob! It's a good thing she didn't get near to Earendil's descendants. Good story. Author Reply: I'm sure Angaril was thoroughly irritated, but it did get him out of the hard unpleasant task to talking to Elrond. I like seeing Celebrian as a strong and loving comfort for Elrond. I loved the quote about Shelob and couldn't wait to get to the end of the story so I could use it. I love when I can find quotes from Tolkien that fit themselves so nicely into what I am writing. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing and enjoying!

Hi ellie! I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed this tale a lot. You were so fast in posting that it caught me away on a business trip and I wasn't able to find time to read it to the end until today. A very good spooky, scary and horror tale. The idea of Ungoliant kin is a very good one, and I think it is quite well developed. The hissing creature was truly terrifying, despite its maternal instinct, and Elladan and Elrohir were they usual selves. An entertaining read! Well done! Author Reply: I wanted to post the last chapter on Halloween, so I was trying to pace the postings to meet that. I'm pleased you enjoyed the story! I've never written anything like this before and I must admit I went into this rather blindly. It was such fun to write though and I can't believe I actually pulled it off. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing and enjoying!
