Ah, 'happy and very satisfied sigh,' so beautiful Antane. Thank you for letting us come along on their journeys. I especially loved the links you made between Elrond's experiences with his wife and daughter and Frodo's with Sam and Merry and Pippin, (and others too of course).

A bit of me hankers to have you try and picture those final reunions too but it is perfect as it is.

Author Reply: Hantanyel, dear harrowcat! So glad you enjoyed!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Oh, wow! You just amaze me with this story. The conversations between Elrond and Iluvatar especially struck me here. Elrond¡¦s cry is that of any of us children of God when we think we can¡¦t bear any more, when we¡¦re almost indignant because we think we and those dearest to us have had enough suffering for one lifetime: ¡§Why? Why! I don¡¦t understand and it isn¡¦t fair!¡¨ I look forward to Elrond¡¦s observance of the rest of this journey, to the very finish, I hope. Pretty please? ƒº
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Hantanyel, ammelda! I think I've had Help with this story, if you know what I mean. :)

As far as continuing it to the end, your wish is granted, my lady. :) *bows*

Namarie, God bless, Melinyel, Your humble servant, Antane :)

Oh, this chapter is so very moving. You write Elrond and Arwen¡¦s interactions wonderfully well, my dear. ƒº I love that she is encouraging him and remembering (and reminding him) when he encouraged her. I love the references to Celebrien (I¡¦d so love to find a story of her last days in Middle-earth sometime), and Arwen¡¦s prayer was beautiful and touching.
God bless,
Galadriel

I want him closer to Me, though that too will be his choice.

Yes, every step of our way is by our own will but is used to God's good purpose.

I love that this is as much about Elrond's journey of Faith as Frodo's.

Author Reply: Hantanyel, my dear harrowcat! Since I've done a couple stories about Frodo finding faith, I thought it would be interesting to do one about someone who has had it so long but it can still be tested. I just watched the other day Lord of the Bean, one of the Veggie Tales that is a kid's animated series - do you have those across the pond? It doesn't follow the story too much, though it does have a sweet scene of Toto Baggypants and Randalf lifted right from the beginning of the Fellowship movie - You're late and the bursting out in laughter from the two. I love Toto and Grumpy (Gimli) but there's no Sam! Still it is still a very good story in its own right. After it's over, there's a quote from Ephesians 2:10 - "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." I thought of that when I read your review.

And Frodo begins to consider the gift, and his heart is prepared to accept it.

Author Reply: I wonder when he actually decided upon it? He is given time to wrap his heart and will around another sacrifice and find in time that it is truly a gift, a reward in measure to the sacrifices he had already made.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Ah! *sniff, sniff* beautiful Antane.

My heart is bleeding for Elrond, and Frodo of course.

The prayer has been made and the choice will be offered when the time is right.

And with his loss of his daughter shall come such joy nonetheless, and such ease to three who need it after what they have suffered from the Ring either through the bearing of it themselves or through seeing what it wrought in the ones they loved most.

Ah, some of this looks very familiar. :) I'm glad you found a way to incorporate it that (I hope) was satisfying, and it was wonderful to see these moments from Elrond's POV. Very moving indeed.
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Hantanyel, ammelda! I'm pretty satisfied though Frodo is still insisting to me he didn't gulp all that water that way. I hope more of the 'familiar parts' will be showing up elsewhere. Glad you enjoyed and are all caught up!

*tears* Oh wow...that's all I can say. The weaving of the lyrics into the tale added just the right touch, and this:

I am glad they are together, Ada. That is the way it should be for two quitin fear. But still it is bitter. Why does it have to end this way?

It will end this way, my child, but you do not know when that end will be. Has not anything you have seen and heard yet brought you to believe that Panthael’s
heart is what I have fashioned to be? Hold onto his hope, if you have no more of your own.

What hope is there left? I tried so hard to hold on the entire time, to trust in Your words and vision. But there is nothing left for me to hope or trust
in.

While there’s life, there’s hope. Trust still for My watch has not ceased over them anymore than has Panthael’s ceased over his Iorhael.

The flames are so close.

I am closer.

Wow!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Hantanyel, ammelda! I love that part too about God being closer than the flames. How often we forget that!

Namarie, God bless, Melinyel, Antane :)
