Accidental poisoning, eh? Poor child! And he thinks the Elves came from his story book? How wonderful! A marvelous series.

I think the "Scattergold" title was applied to the wrong generation! Heh!

Ah, what that slate and slate pencil managed to set in motion! Yes, a Gamgee knows how to read and write, and it's proving right useful indeed! Heh!

Perfect! From Elf and Dwarf and horse to pocketwatch and promise. So, Fosco wasn't a good invester, eh? Too bad, really. But Bilbo knows his cousin, and that if the watch is pawned, it will be to see to Frodo's needs. And the Elf and Dwarf will be friends in Frodo's world? Good!

Love the detective work by the Elves and their winllingness to aid our littlest lad.

Thank goodness Pippin finally came along. After Bilbo being the cause of much of Merry's 'generosity' it is highly appropriate that he helped to sort the resulting mess!

*g* Just the right way to get around the Gaffer! Loved this picture of him as the gardener and, of course, little Sam.

This was lovely. It was a treat to see the Gamgee family all together. Little Sam reciting to his gaffer the gardening rhymes he had learned from Bilbo was precious and absolutely perfect for this story. I'm glad that the Gaffer came to realize that useful things could be learned from books and that Sam was able to keep the slate and learn his letters. Bilbo's gifts certainly do go beyond the surface.
