Aww this made me smile! As an aunt who lives an ocean, a mountain range and an hemisphere away fro my nephews and niece, i always enjoy coming home with the strangest presents, not always approved by parents.. but dragon claws and teeth are definetly cool! NO wonder that Elrond would not even open an eye! that is a conflict between Glorfindel and Celebrian definitely!A wonderful moment

Very nice... Its nice to see the twins when they were young. And nice to see Glorfindel still telling them stories, even at theier naneth's disaproval... The presents were a nice touch as well... great work...

I got a grin out of this story. Glorfindel is such a good uncle, dragons teeth and claws, plus I love how he would put Elrohir's name first.

Heh! That is one excellent uncle the boys have there! And not a peep from Elrond during the whole business! Only pretending to be snoozing? Just proves he is one wise elf! But, Nilmandra's birthday is best ever. So many fun stories like this! Author Reply: Elrond had to be there to make the twins' day complete, but he just wouldn't talk to me - so yes, I guess he was asleep. He certainly wasn't going to get involved over the suitability of dragon's teeth and claws as presents :>) I love other people's birthdays, and the stories they get!

I saw this on your LJ first, but I liked it again over here! I still think having Glorfindel show up would have tobe the best birthday present ever, LOL. A cute story, Jay, and it definitely made me smile. Thank you. :>) Author Reply: Happy belated birthday! I rather thought you'd like Glorfindel popping up to pass on his greetings :>) I'm glad it made you smile!

Hee hee hee! But of *course* the twins would want to know all about the dragon! Too young? Nightmares?? Only mothers would think up such silly notions! This is a cute vignette that made me smile, Jay! Thank you for sharing it with us! -Barbara Author Reply: But Celebrían remembers the time Glorfindel told them the Balrog story ... of course he'll tell them about the dragon, and she knows it :>) Thanks - I'm glad you liked this!

This was delightful! Thoroughly enjoyable! A wonderful begetting day indeed - though Celebrian will most certainly not agree after the story is told that night. teehee. Author Reply: I don't think I've been fair to Celebrían here - she sounds too strict and disapproving, but I wanted to contrast Glorfindel's exuberance against someone. And of course she's the one that may have to comfort two distressed elflings after Glorfindel's story tonight ...

Jay, that was lovely! No wonder the twins love Glorfindel so much – he knew just *the* begetting day gift for two adventurous elflings. Dragon tooth and claw in a bag of dragon skin – how exciting for them! And of course he has to tell them everything about it, no matter what Celebrían says ;-) And I love the ‚Elrohir and Elladan’-thing, as it is making Elrohir feeling more important, and I think you know already who is my favourite twin! Glorfindel is truly great with the elflings. A pity he has not some of his own. Author Reply: I see Glorfindel as a wonderful uncle figure to the twins, and a friend and confidant when they need it. You're right - he'd be a great father. When he's just been off slaying dragons, what better gift could he bring home for the twins' birthday? And you'll notice they didn't get the same gift - there had to be a slight difference!

Yes, the change in name-order would be important to Elrohir, and glad that Glorfindel does this for the second-born. And to know they'll hear the tale--tonight would indeed make this a most, most special begetting day indeed. And I see this is before younger sister has been added to the family. Very nice. Author Reply: Poor Elrohir doesn't always like being 'and Elrohir', but only Glorfindel realises this. I hope the scary story tonight won't lead to nightmares - but the twins are older now, so perhaps not. I have once or twice made Arwen closer in age to the twins, but mostly stick to canon, so she won't be around for some time yet.

Awwww. Glorfindel is definitely a kid at heart. Author Reply: Isn't he? I think Celebrían's right - he's a bad influence on the twins! Jay :>)
