Excellent resolution to it all, Cathleen, and I'm glad you found my suggestions helpful.

The coming home must have been so difficult.

Author Reply: Thank you for your input and your beta, I much appreciated it! And yes, I have often imagined what their homecoming was like. I am very glad to have had this opportunity to remix Barbara's awesome story!

The original of this was the first of Dreamflower's stories that I ever read. I enjoyed that one very much and I love what you've done with it as well. I liked your version of Paladin. Worried, confused and angry worked well with him considering what he'd been through. Great job.

Author Reply: GW, Dreamflower's story was and is a favorite of mine and I was so impressed that it was her very first fanfic! I am so pleased to hear you enjoyed my own interpretation. I most especially appreciate your comments on my version of Paladin and his reactions to Pip's homecoming. I really wanted to explore the extent of what must have been the most difficult time of their lives and the many mixed emotions I thought his father would have had.
Thank you so much for your kind review!

Pearl TookReviewed Chapter: 1 on 8/7/2007
This is a really good, insightful story, Cathleen :-)

I was so glad that it ended well. I had to be horrible for the lads' parents and I'm sure the worries and pressures of the Ruffians in the Shire only made it that much worse.

You also handled Pippin's memories, both of the Quest and of his childhood, wonderfully!

Very Well Done :-)

Author Reply: Thank you Pearl! I'm so pleased you saw it as insighful. I worked very hard to portray the mixed emotions I saw his parents as having throughout that difficult time. It was also very important to me that I honor Dreamflower's original story while still making it my own - I had several false starts when I began writing it, but I am pleased with the way it turned out.
Your comments, as always, are very much appreciated!
Cathleen
