Elf, Interrupted: Book Two: Glorfindel's Quest  by Fiondil 6 Review(s)
KittyReviewed Chapter: 141 on 8/7/2010
Well, it was only to be expected that Sador lost his temper; I'm only surprised he waited that long. At least it's better he takes it out on Oromë than on his friends, though the latter will probably be in for it anyway.

"Is that all I am to you is some pawn in a political game? Glorfi is bait and I’m your dupe? And Finrod. What is he, your favorite pet?" Ah yes, Manwë has talked the Valar out of that trial, but the feelings are still lingering, aren't they?

While Oromë seems to have comforted Sador a bit, he certainly made himself scarce after dropping another bombshell on poor Sador. Do you think Alassiel would mind me giving the poor ellon a comforting hug? ;)

Author Reply: I'm sure Alassiel would not mind at all, Kitty. *grin* The Valar are experts at making themselves scarce after dropping a bombshell or two. And yes, I think the feelings of manipulation still linger in one degree or another. Such feelings do not go away quickly and the Valar will have to tread carefully for a time, because every request or command from them will be second-guessed by the Elves rather than instantly obeyed until trust can be re-established.

Thanks for the review, Kitty. I appreciate it.

So Sador was given one to one lessons from Nienna? It explains a lot.
Now, the question is, what will Netilmírë say about Oromës poaching her apprentice.
Námo could possibly pacify her by releasing her husband from Mandos (and for a good measure his friend Earnur too).

Author Reply: Well he had at least one lesson with Nienna and probably several others. We will learn what Netilmírë about all this soon enough. Thanks for reading and reviewing, Serinde. I appreciate it.

Sador took it better than I thought. At least he didn´t try to run away or something similar stupid. But him feeling manipulated is understandable as is his comment about him, Glorfindel and Finrod. And in some aspects I think it is a bit true. I would´t wonder if some of the Tol Eresseans had as an ulteria motive to have a scapegoat if things go wrong when they voted for him. But
hopefully with the help of his gwador and the Valar everything will turn out well.

I guess from now on he will pester Namo not about the release of his family but when the first king will be released.

This bit about Nienna teaching Sador is very interesting. I guess the memories will come when he needs them.

The next chapters will be interesting when the first conflict arouse how things should be done.

Author Reply: Sador is more mature than some people think. As for being manipulated, he certainly has a right to think that, though it's not actually true, not in the case. The Valar have been very careful NOT to manipulate matters in this regard so that Sador's election would not be tainted, so to speak.

You're probably right about Sador pestering Namo about when the first king will be released. *LOL*

And the memories generally come when needed, and sometimes even when they are not. *grin*

Glad you enjoyed this chapter. We'll see how things progress from here on out. Thanks for taking the time to read and review, Hel. I appreciate it very much.

Oh yes, things are indeed falling into place. But I certainly don't envy Sador his new position and I'm quite sure he will be delighted to pass the torch over to the appropriate King as soon as he possibly can and return to his studio. I think his pottery may become quite collectible now...Antiques Roadshow Valinor-style?

Also loved the "Glorfi is bait and I'm your dupe? And Finrod. What is he, your favorite pet?" Glorfindel certainly often feels as if he is bait, at least to hear him tell it. Truly classic.

Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. Antiques Roadshow Valinor-style. *LOL* I'm sure Sador is already counting down the days when he can indeed pass the torch to some hapless king and go back to his studio, but in the meantime, he'll do well enough in his new job.

Glad you liked the line about Glorfindel, etc. Sador is obviously taking a page from Glorfi's book on whining, isn't he? *grin*

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

I cannot fault Sador for his frustration. At least he has been able to let his resentment be fully expressed, and knows it is understood. Now to see him in action.

And the time nears for Glorfindel to return to Middle Earth once more.

Author Reply: At least Sador has reason for his frustration. That he can express his resentment and know it is understood is a gift most of us rarely are given by our families or our friends.

As for Glorfindel... soon is a relative term when it comes to elves. *grin*

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Larner.

Nothing like a good hissy fit to clear the air and sooth the feelings!
It will take Sador a while to find his way, things do have to be sorted out, where will hje live, will he still be able to follow his trade, has he even finished his apprenticeship! I hope the Tolerresseans were not expecting to take him back with them!
I wish him luck, with Morcocano and Galadwhen to deal with he will need it!
Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Yes, a good hissy fit was definitely in the works. *grin* There is a lot that needs to be dealt with before Sador takes up his new position. Most of the concerns you raise will be answered in the next couple of chapters.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Lynda. I appreciate it.
