Sador is just proving why he was the right choice, isn't he? Good idea to take the elflings to Tol Eressëa to see Sador instituted as Cáno. They will be happy to be allowed to be there. And I'm glad Finrod and the others are contemplating how to help them and to continue their studies. Glorfindel is truly growing up, considering how he took care of Vondo. Though I have to admit it's quite odd to see him as the voice of reason after he was mostly worse than Vondo. Hm, is Manwë going to warn Eärendil about these beasts about to attack Aewellond? Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Indeed, Sador is proving to everyone that he was the right choice. And I don't think the elflings would ever forgive Finrod if he didn't take them to Tol Eressëa for the investiture. They are very fond of Sador since he was their primary minder during the Tournament, along with Alassiel. And Glorfindel is indeed growing up, though he still has a way to go. I think he sees much of himself in Vondo and so was able to speak to him in a way that the others could not, thus getting him to behave. I suspect that the attack by the Great Cats will be at least one topic of conversation between Eärendil and Manwë, though not the only one, as will be made clear in a later chapter. I'm on vacation and hardly turning on my laptop, but getting a story update on anything by you is always a treat. And so Sador is, justifiably, upset at the methods used to "nominate" him for the Cano position. Although he is certainly able to see the need, and even to agree that he might be the best for the position, I also see his objections to the methods used and the lack of warning that he received for his nomination. He has been training well, but he is walking into uncharted territory and having allies and truthful friends will be essential. I am glad that Glofindel will assist in his move, he is able to cut through a great deal of red tape. I look forward to the investiture and feel rather sorry for Finrod's elflings. Again they will be uprootedm, and this time from hard-won trust and cherished positions of responsibility. But they will persevere and I think they will become trusted companions in later days. Thanks for another wonderful chapter - I start to see an end game here, and I rather dread it because having any of your stories come to an end is tragic for me. - Erulisse (one L) Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. Sador has reason to be upset, but at the same time he is a pragmatist and understands why his friends did what they did and why he is the best person for the job (at least at this time). The elflings, of course, have to return to their families, but they will take with them all that they have learned and Ingwe will see to it that their studies continue and they are allowed to follow their dreams. And all things, even this story, eventually come to an end, but just think of how much fun you've had in reading it and how much fun you will have in re-reading it, and how much you will look forward to my next story. grin Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Looks like Sador accepted his new position finaly. Though I can understand his reproaches agaist his brothers and friends. They took the easy way in nominating him and electing him in a way he couldn´t dispute and bringing him in a situation where a no was not possible. In my eyes it goes a bit against their protestations him being mature enough to rule as cano as they don´t think him being mature enought to be conviced by their arguements for his nomination which they shurely would have done if an older elf would have been in the place. I guess when the everyday live as Cano starts the good and peaceful feeling and behaviour of some people will have gone. He will need to be careful in selecting his staff from the mainland as in his acting being the Noldoran´s ward and in having help from Finrod or he will be accused of being the puppet of the Amanian elves. And he needs to be more diplomatic or a lot of people will use this against him as they will use his age and his inexperience in ruling against him. It´s good to see that Finrod´s elflings have gained something for their future from the year. It will be interesting to see how they will develope. I wonder why Manwe needs to speak to Earendil and Elwing so urgently. Author Reply: Sador will do well enough, Hel. And he will learn as he goes, just as we all do, but he will have powerful friends, not only among the Amanians but also among the Tol Eresseans who will support him. And as for why Manwe needs to speak to Earendil and Elwing so urgently... well there is the small matter of the great cats attacking the settlement. Again, a nice transition chapter here. Sador will do well, and it sounds as if the troublemakers from Tol Eressea are all cooperating as of now. All is going reasonably well at the moment, and there is the investiture to look forward to in the spring. Author Reply: Thanks, Larner. I'm glad you liked this chapter. I think the troublemakers have learned that making trouble doesn't solve anything and that they need to cooperate if they want to get anywhere. The investiture will be coming up soon. This is a nice wrap up for the council. It is too bad that Earendil is so suspicious of Manwe and the Valar that he questions a summons to visit and discuss recent happenings in his homeland. For Ingwe it is all over, but those of Tirion and Alqualonde still have discussions to get through once they get home. They all must be exhausted! Author Reply: Hi Ellie. I'm not sure that Earendil is suspicious so much as he is surprised by the summons, but given what has happened lately, perhaps he is a bit wary. For Ingwe, it is indeed over, but not for others. I imagine they are all exhausted and are looking forward to sleeping in their own beds again. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Well thats everybody sorted and on their way home. I think Gladwhen suffers a little from Big Frog, Small Pond syndrom, she will still be able to influence the Council to some digree however. Meril looks to be a good choics. Yep, Glorfi is growing up, or as much as he ever will, that is! Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: You are probably right about Galadhwen, Lynda. Some people prefer to be the Big Frog in the Small Pond then to be the little frog in the big pond. Meril will do well enough in that position. She is less concerned with image than Galadhwen is. Glorfi is indeed growing up, though he still has a way to go. And knowing Glorfi, I'm sure he'll still be letting out his inner child more readily than most millennia later.
