I noticed a little typo...until the time when it is meet for me to step down and let another take my place. Valar valuvar." Shouldn't it be mete instead of meet? Author Reply: Actually, 'meet' is correct. 'Mete' means 'to measure out, to allot' as in 'to mete out punishment', while 'meet' means 'appropriate'. Author Reply: And this 'meet' is the adjective, not the verb meaning 'coming together for a particular purpose'. I hope that clears this up for you. It's confusing, I know, because both words sound alike, and 'meet' is both a verb and an adjective. (Sorry for the break in the message but the site was acting weird for a bit.)

What a beautiful ceremony. Sador's oath reminded me a bit of Pippin's to Denethor. That they wisely put Eru at their head and praised him was as it should be. So far, so good. However, I'm still waiting for the fly in the ointment. Author Reply: Glad you liked the ceremony, Tari. The oath is very similar to the one Pippin gave to Denethor and even that oath is based on historical oaths from our own world. It is always wise to put Eru at the head of one's endeavors. grin Whether there is a fly in the ointment, however, remains to be seen. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

I can just imagine Netilmírë's face when she learned about the identity of the new cáno! But all in all, she took it well, and I am glad she's going to accompany Sador to Tol Eressëa. The more people he has with him he can trust the better. The ceremony was nice, festive, but not too pompous, just what Sador needed. And Manwë made very clear why Sador was the right choice. Now why am I surprised to learn when the coronet was made? I should have known the Valar had planned ahead quite a bit. Author Reply: I'm sure Netilmírë's expression was priceless.grin And Sador needs all the supportive people he can get. Netilmírë is of the same generation as Arafinwë, so she has the wisdom and experience that the younger elves in Sador's entourage won't have and that will be very important for him. As for the coronet.... I always knew why Niélë was at Nienna's and what her task was. That's how early in the storyline I knew who would eventually become Cáno. grin Thanks for reviewing, Kitty.

Author Reply: The Valar are great ones for contingency plans, aren't they? grin At least Sador didn't bolt too far and was easily brought back. Not like Finrod. Heh! I bet Sador's grandma was pretty stunned by the news that HE is cano. I'm glad she went along with him and his promotion to journeyman was a good thing, too though it paled in comparison to being CANO. Here's slogan for Sador to support his cause: Sador: He puts the CAN in Cano! LOL!!!!! I can empathize with Sador and Ingwion on the moving thing. At least when I fninsh my move I won't be incharge of soemthing so huge as an island - unless I win the lottery and buy an island. I don't envy them though. It will be hard for Ingwe having his son so far away, I'm sure. Cool ceremony with the Valar present. Liked the detail of folks trying to guess which Vala was which. LOL! Author Reply: Nice slogan. grin And yes, I'm sure you could have knocked grandma over with a feather with the news. And actually, I think for Sador, getting promoted to journeyman probably meant a lot more to him than being named Cano. I'm sure it will be hard for Ingwion and his family to have him so far away, although really he's not that far. He's maybe a week's travel away and there isn't an ocean separating him from them. I'm sure they will all adjust. Glad you liked the ceremony and the people trying to guess which Vala is which. Most of the Tol Eresseans had never seen any of the Valar, so it was a natural thing for them to try and figure out who was who. Thanks for reading and reviewing, Ellie. I appreciate it very much.

Well, Sador did neither faint nor run away screaming during the ceremony of investiture, so I suppose it must be considered a success ;-) Netilmírë seems to calm Sador down. I get the feeling that he is going to spend a fair amount of his spare time in his workshop pounding clay into shape as a way of calming his nerves until he gets used to his new job. Do you think your muse would be interested in a few of Vondo's exploits, since he is evidently even better at getting into trouble than Glorfindel - something that definitely takes talent!! Or perhaps the other Reborn are getting inspired by him, and _that_ is why Irmo is kicking him out of Lórien? Author Reply: I suspect that Sador will be using the pottery workshop for anger management therapy after a day dealing with the Assembly. LOL As for Vondo, you never know. If the Muse finds me a story for him I just might write about him. And Irmo is kicking him out only temporarily. He'll be back in Lórien when Finrod returns there. He still has some growing up to do before he can be safely released into society. grin Thanks for reading and reviewing, Sunny. I greatly appreciate it.

Poor Eonwe, I bet he had handwriter's cramp after all that oath writing he did. You do realise that as a result of your version of him as Oathkeeper, that particular task is now set in stone for him don't you? I'm sure that Sador will come into his own and blossom during his period as Cano. Author Reply: Well, as Eonwe himself said somewhere in one of my stories, the Book is merely a prop. He remembers all oaths and as a Maia, I'm sure he did not suffer from handwriter's cramp, though I have no doubt he was glad when the last oath was made. grin And I'm glad that people like my version of Eonwe as Oathkeeper that they include that aspect of him into their own portrayal of the character. I wonder how many people think that's canon rather than fanon. grin I have no fear for Sador. He is in his element, even if he doesn't quite believe it yet. I can feel this story is slowly drawing to a close and I will miss it when it does. You are starting to dot 'Tees' and cross 'Eyes', tying things up neatly or as neatly as Glorfindel and the Valar will let you! Let me know when Sadors book comes out will you, I would like a copy?!
