beautiful! Very sweetly and lovingly portrayed!

What a sweet vignette! It was thoughtful of the twins, to think of such a present, so Glorfindel could have cherished memories regarding the same book and from his two lives.

What a sweet and thoughtful gift. Glorfindel must have cherished it.

A very nice gift. Happy day, Glorfindel! Another who was "sent back" for that most important task of rescuing the Ring-bearer. You have my thanks.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

The very thoughtful gesture of the Rivendell twins' gesture for Glorfindel was so sweet! (Wonder what they did though to deserve the punishment). The last part where Glorfindel reminisces about Gondolin was very touching.

Now just doesn't this prove that the twins hearts are in the right places. Is there any chance of me getting the twins to help me clean up arround here?

Oh Jay that was just lovely and what an interesting, but very plausible connection between Gondolin and Imladris.

Author Reply: I'm not sure any book could have survived that long, but if it did it could very easily have ended up in Imladris like that. Thanks for your review!

Very poignant, touching story ... really nice glimpse of ordinary life in Imladris, and the love between the four Elves/Peredhil. I especially liked seeing the softer side of Glorfindel.

Author Reply: Glorfindel is a ferocious fighter (and captain of the Imladris warriors in my stories) but he's very fond of the twins. They're like sons to him.

*snicker* I can *so* see the twins reluctantly doing their dusting, grumbling, and Elrohir dropping the spider on Elladan.

But this find was great, and the idea it gave Elrohir even more. Of course Erestor couldn’t turn them down with it! This gift was touching. To get this gift from his parents back after all these millennia, probably as the only thing still existing of all his possessions in Gondolin, must mean so much to him. And to have a newer copy added to it, one he can still read without destroying the original completely, is great. IMHO, the twims made more than up with that, no matter what they did to deserve the dusting in the first place.

That is a beautiful story, Jay!

I was imagining the twins cleaning the library - of course there was a spider, and of course Elrohir dropped it on Elladan :)

I think you're right - this has to be the only possession of Glorfindel's that survived from Gondolin, so it's valuable to him for that alone, besides the memories it has.

I'm afraid I don't know what the twins did to deserve this punishment - they wouldn't tell me!
