I enjoyed the conversation between Aragorn and Ferdinand greatly, Ferdinand would make a great sport comentator! *g* It looked through the whole chapter that there is no more reason to worry, when suddenly, at the very end... ah, I'm really glad that the next chapter is already there!

Author Reply: LOL! Can't you see Ferdinand doing a play-by-play of the Battle of the Pelennor?

Glad you liked this one, and yeah, since the chapters are all there for you, the cliffhanger won't leave you hanging too long! Thanks for the review!

Oh, dear!!! Not good, not good! Lucky me, I didn't have time to read this till you had posted the next chapter already, so no cliffie this time! =P

Am still enjoying this immensely. Ferdinand is absolutely wonderful!

Author Reply: Thanks, Minerva! There's definitely pluses to falling behind in your reading, especially with this tale. (Although I see from your review of the next chapter, you didn't fall behind *quite* far enough! LOL) I'm glad you're enjoying this so much... it's such a relief knowing the everyone seems to like little Ferdinand. He's definitely found a spot in my heart! Thanks for the review!

Woman, you ARE the epitome of darkness for leaving us on such a note! Oh my goodness . . . I know you had it out for Aragorn's arms in At Hope's Edge, and now I'm thinking it's his poor hand, lol!

I admit you caught me off guard, and I bow to you for making this story so suspenseful and exciting just when I thought it was safe for Aragorn to relax. Apparently not. I must say that I do hope that the Southron manages to hurt Aragorn just a wee bit more well, since he's there and all . . .

Looking VERY forward to the next chapter!

Author Reply: Oh my, Lily... you call me evil when you're hoping Aragorn's hurt a wee bit more??? You're hopeless. *g* But I'm glad you're enjoying the suspense. I like stories where you really don't know where the next chapter... or next paragraph... will take you. Thanks for the review!

Oh no! ANOTHER cliffie! Whoa!

I certainly hope Halbarad and Denlad hurry up!

Poor Ferdinand, too!

I did like the way he described the fight-- it sounded positively Pippish! And his worrying about Aragorn eating, and preparing to feed the others was a neat touch...

But, oh dear!

Author Reply: Two apples from the same Tookish apple tree, possibly! I'm glad you liked this... and er, yeah, another cliffie. I'm afraid there's a lot of those in this. *g* Thanks for the review!

Ferdinand's running commentary on the Ranger-skirmish had me giggling - very well written, though; and I could just see him doing it (also a great literary device for enlightening the reader as to the distant action and being light on the exposition)! And then, Ferdinand orders the unfrocked King-of-the-West to his bedroll; with complete Hobbit authority.

But you ended with a CLIFFIE! Bad, bad Cairistiona!

Any chance that Ferdinand could break the Southron's kneecap?

Author Reply: LOL... breaking a kneecap, eh? That'd be about the right height, wouldn't it? *g*

I'm glad the commentary made you giggle. I definitely wanted a lighter moment at this point of the story, because... hmm, I best not say or I'll spoil things.

And yes, I'm evil... bwa ha ha! I like cliffhangers. *g*

Thanks for the review!

Every time I expect a nice, happy reunion it turns out a certain *evil* author has other plans. *glares* I really didn't expect any danger at that point, though I did have a bad feeling about those Southrons. I think I was at least as surprised as poor Aragorn was! I'm beginning to think I'll soon have reason to dislike the Southrons even more. Somehow I don't believe Ferdinand is that good at protecting hurt rangers from armed villains. *has a quite entertaining mental image of Ferdinand trying to jump high enough to hit the Southron on the head with his frying pan* I hope Halbarad and Denlad hurry up! *pokes them* Well, I'll just sit here and happily continue fretting (and poking rangers) until the next chapter. *g*

Loved the beginning, btw! Ferdinands antics and his idea of giving information to Aragorn made me laugh so much, lol! It's a wonder Aragorn didn't start pulling his hair out. ;-) //Look at that sword flash! Hair streaming, fire in his eyes even from here...// Oh, I really wish Halbarad could have heard that! :D

//Have to leap to your feet and injure yourself further in the name of satisfying your curiousity when all you had to do was listen to what I told you.//
*chokes* I admire Aragorn's self-control. *chuckles* It's so like Ferdinand to start cooking right away in prepartion for Halbarad and Denlad's arrival. I was looking forward to "seeing" their suprised faces and hearing their comments upon finding Aragorn already patched-up and well-fed in the company of a hobbit... but of course, *someone* had other plans. ;-) I enjoyed this chapter a lot and am looking forward to the next one! :)

Author Reply: Hee hee... yes, it's far too early for a happy, carefree reunion. The lesson of this chapter is don't fall asleep until you're *sure* all the Southrons are accounted for. :) I'm glad you liked the humor in this... keep poking those Rangers because um, well, I can't really say at this point. *g*

Thanks for the review!

I agree--you are evil! Heh! So, this is where the fourth Southron went, then? Not good. Now--how do we get out of this one?

Author Reply: Yes, I admit to being evil.. it's just too much fun! LOL Thank you for putting up with all the twists and turns and cliffhangers. :)

I was laughing so hard with Ferdinand fight description...poor Aragorn, I was sure that he was having a heart attack.

And here I was thinking in a happy reunion and you have another Southron coming unnvited to the camp...Please, update soon!

Author Reply: Thanks, Fantasia... no happy reunion just yet. We're only in the 5th chapter, after all! I'm glad you enjoyed Ferdinand's highly frustrating play-by-play of the fight. I don't think Aragorn was as amused as the rest of us!

Thoroughly enjoying this engaging story - then you throw in some really rough cliff hangers! Good job.

Author Reply: Thanks, utfrog! I'm glad you're enjoying this despite my evil cliffhangers! *g*

GAH! Dude. . ..not cool! Evil little person. . . ;p

Lol, I love Ferdinand! He is hobbity and absolutely perfect! As always, the conversation flows and it was great! Except it ended that way. . .I think you are INTENTIONALLY being EVIL! o-o;;

Lol, glad life is awesome and hope it has continued that way! :3

Author Reply: LOL... thank you (I think!!) Nah, seriously, thank you--I'm glad you're enjoying (in a sense) the story. It's definitely filled with ups and downs and twists and turns (and yes, I'm intentionally evil! *laughs with evil glee*). I'm glad you like Ferdinand... he's been so fun, I may have to use him again in a story if I can think of a good way to do it.

And yes, life is still awesome, thanks! :)
