One gross of Elves!
LOL!!! That was really funny!
Thank you for posting it :-)

This was cute! Too bad Frodo was drinking at the same though. Bless hobbits indeed! :)
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author Reply: Hobbits will never cease to delight me. :)

LOL! How I love hobbits' secret delight! And Gandalf is in on the secret! *grin*
(I remember something similar from a notion of mine, but I made it up - that "Ernil i Pheriannath" sounded a bit like a Dwarfish curse, to Tookish ears, which made the hobbits very merry indeed as they walked about Minas Tirith after the War. But you've found something in canon for amusement, which is wonderful indeed!)
Author Reply: It's nice to imagine little moments of mirth and 'conspiracy' along the road of this very dangerous quest.
I'm sure I've read that story, it sounds so familiar. It's delightful when the hobbits share a fun secret.

Ah, but it is fun when the Hobbits find something private to laugh at in such a manner. And to have them tickle Gandalf's fancy--perfect! Heh!
Author Reply: Thanks! I'm sure the hobbits and Gandalf will be diplomatic enough to keep the source of their mirth from Legolas.

Love the idea of a gross of Elves!
Author Reply: *giggles* This was a fun idea.

LOL! Never made the connection before either. I wonder if Frodo every explained (in private) to Aragorn what had caused the reaction he and the other hobbits had to Legolas' tale. Sure as Yavanna made little green apples, he didn't try to explain it to Legolas. Loved Gandalf in this. He would certainly understand hobbit humor if no one did.
Author Reply: I have a feeling the hobbits kept this little secret to themselves. :)
Gandalf did seem to keep 'two eyes, as often as he could spare them' on his hobbits.
