It's wonderful to see this story continuing to grow--and in more than one meaning of the word--as you add each chapter. Love the hints of Oz and Star Wars here, too!

Ah, they've finally reached Bree. Can't wait to see how you introduce Strider in this futuristic steampunk version of the Professor's story. I love the little details you give. I can actually 'see' where they are going and who they meet. By the time we acutally reach the end of the story, that last chapter is going to be lo-o-o-ong! LOL!

Dreamflower, At first I was thinking of the Yellow Brick Road! LOL! That path is something all right. And "Officer Goatleaf"??? Hehe! I love it. I love this! Keep going, keep going! Kaylee

Dreamflower, *Automata*, are they? Created by Gorthaur indeed! I love your touch of using names I don't usually see tossed about during the actual telling of LotR! But Gorthaur he was indeed! You're writing a most excellent story here! I don't know much about mushroom and barley soup, but if I get an inkling to try it I'll try this recipe! Oh - and I love "The Summer Lady" Goldberry! Dreamflower, The Green Man! Ha! And he talks like Yoda...oh, this is too funny, I love it!!! "Fronds"...I see Old Man Willow is up to his tricks even here! Kaylee

Catching up on reviews, Dreamflower! :) "We", indeed. Of course they have to keep Uncle Bilbo's crystal safe! Heh, the Wyldwood...what a name! I like it! This fic keeps engaging me (though I have a pouting and sulking genealogy muse demanding more Tooks...sorry, I'm trying to calm her down!) Love this! Kaylee

Finally got a chance to read this. This is delightful, Dreamflower! I've not read much steampunk, only one and that was an audiobook, actually. It's an interesting genre. Of course, I grew up with Jules Verne so the concept isn't all that new, just taken a step further. Anyway, I'm eagerly looking forward to more. I've even copied out the soup recipe and will most likely give it a try this weekend.

"Automata, they are," the Green Man said, "created by Gorthaur they were, in imitation of living people. His crystal he used, to give them consciousness and limited will, though slaved to him they are." -- Very nice. "a dream of swirling stars and strange music" -- Oh! Gotcha. Glad they picked up the swords. Mushrooms and barley are two of my very, very favorites. Come to think of it, I have rosemary in the front garden and German thyme which *ahem* went to seed all over the mulch. And the parsley's not quite frozen yet.... The Professor's accent should be on the second 'o.' http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/o/olorin.html Author Reply: I'm glad you liked my "version" of the Nazgul! If you tried the recipe, let me know how you liked it! And thanks for the accent tip. I'll try to fix that in future installments.

LOVE the Wyldwood: as long as it's not in my pasture ... particularly since it's purple. Does it move around much? Maybe I shouldn't offer it the neighbor's pasture or the golf course either. RECOGNIZE Tom and Goldberry: ˇˇˇwow!!! REALLY, REALLY NEED: Sam's sonic pruner. Please let me know the vendor. Author Reply: I don't think I'd want it next door either, LOL! I'm not sure where he got it; perhaps some wandering fellow in a blue box gave it to him. But that won't be in this story, as it is just weird and not a crossover.

Glad to see two more chapters here, my dear! Interesting happenings, explaining this world's Nazgul and Tom's incarnation here as the Green Man. Thank God Sam had that pruner! Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Yep! What transplanted-to-a-colony-on-another-planet-hobbit-gardener would be without one? *grin*
