To The End of His Days  by GamgeeFest 5 Review(s)

The healing of Sam's old wound (the loss of Frodo) was started by his family and completed with his arrival in Tol Eressea and with the reception of Frodo's letter.

The loss of Rose is still new. But I'm sure this wound can be healed as well. This time, the Elves and Gandalf will take over the place of his family.

Author Reply: Oh, indeed! Sam is content that Frodo was happy and healed, but Sam is still in mourning for his dear wife. He very much needed this respite in order to find healing.

I love the evidence we keep seeing of Frodo's healing and of all the things he found to do in his new life--

Sam's grief is very new, but the grief of being widowed never really goes away. Yet he will be healed anyway, I do think.

Author Reply: These first few weeks will be the most enlightening for Sam, as he learns his way around and meets more of Frodo's friends.

The loss of Rose is still quite sharp for Sam, but he's determined to make the most of the time he has left.

Oh, when he is ready for it, his time to be whole will indeed come for him. A glorious realization, that Frodo knew joy here!

Author Reply: Indeed, Sam will be whole again someday. In the meantime, he's learning quite a lot about Frodo's time in Tol Eressea. :)

That's great Sam can see that painting - wish we could! - and know what his treasure did.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Sam must have stood there for some time, just looking at that painting. What a sight to see!

One of his ocean paintings even hangs in the grand hall of the theater here.

I love that detail.

Author Reply: I'm sure Frodo was quite proud of that painting, if the Elves deemed it worthy for their halls. :)
