To The End of His Days  by GamgeeFest 5 Review(s)

Gandalf may have different looks and a different name - but what remains is his delight in pipeweed ;-)

I wonder about Frodo's choice of words to welcome Sam home. And I'm even more curious about what Sam's luggage has to do with the fulfillment of his promise.

Author Reply: Gandalf has his priorities in order. ;)

Knowing Frodo, he probably wrote Sam a novel!

RL is keeping me busy but I am enjoying reading this. My heart would like the happy ever after of Frodo and Sam meeting again but there is much logic in your tale too.

Author Reply: I'm so glad you're enjoying the story so far! Frodo has gone ahead of his Sam again, but Sam won't let that stop him from enjoying his retirement.

I am glad that at least in this manner Frodo was able to greet his Sam. Gandalf with black hair is almost hard to imagine for me, at least.

Author Reply: Well, it's smoky black hair, so still greyish, just a darker shade of grey than he was sporting before. ;) And I do believe Frodo would have made sure to leave some sort of personal message for Sam, just in case.

I'm so happy Gandalf is there for Sam. Ooooh, the suspense of the letter!

Author Reply: Gandalf wouldn't leave knowing that Sam might be coming. There is the pipeweed to consider after all. ;)

A delightful conversation! I like how you've made sure that Olorin/Gandalf retains his Gandalf personality in spite of the changes in his appearance! I find myself curious as to what he meant by "sent on ahead" about Sam's luggage!

Author Reply: Gandalf may be less grumpy, but he's still Gandalf. lol! We'll find out what he meant soon enough. ;)
