Oh, I can just imagine that pair of jokers giggling like Elflings once they are far enough away not to be heard!

"Do you think we were solemn enough "Roh?"

"Oh, yes I think so, they must be singing with joy about now!"

Lynda

Author Reply: Now you have me imagining this scene, too, Lynda! Heh! Thank you!

A great start. I can imagine the images floating through Halbeleg's mind with the thought of Aragorn disarming one of the twins. The twins come across a bit like oracles. They leave a cryptic message and leave *grin*.

Author Reply: Well, they'd done what they came for, after all! Heh! Thanks so!

So he really disarmed one of the twins? Wow!

It is time, Adar believes, for Hope to be restored to your people.

Very well said and very fitting for Elrond! Now, let's see how this restoration is done. I'm looking forward to reading more!

Author Reply: In my-verse the Twins assured him that only when he could disarm one of them during sparring could he ride out with their patrols, and that he managed that as a "birthday present."

And if Aragorn-Estel was the embodiment of Holy Hope through Faith, it's time indeed for that Hope to return to its own proper place, don't you agree? Thanks, Andrea!

That would have indeed been interesting to see - a mere mortal boy beating an Elf. :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I agree, Antane--to see a youth of fifteen beat one of the indomitable Peredhil twins must have been quite the feat. But I doubt that he could have done less and been accepted as ready to ride out with their patrols.

Remember, one of the most effective generals in British history was fifteen-year-old Richard, brother to Edward IV, who helped to map the strategy by which his older brother returned to the Throne of England after their uncle Richard Neville temporarily unseated Edward following the young King's unfortunate marriage to Elizabeth Woodville. There is certainly historical precedence for Aragorn's skills in battle at such a youthful age.

Raise the white roses!

I tend to be drawn more toward stories of elves and men rather than hobbits so although I always take note of your work I often don't read or respond. This one I will definitely be reading....and looking forward to future installments.

Author Reply: I'm glad you chose to let me know about this one. I love the Hobbits, obviously, but I also love Aragorn son of Arathorn, and have done so since I first encountered him at the tender age of thirteen. And now I have a snowglobe of him as King with Anduril raised before his face, and I am content--for the moment, at least. Heh!

Stupid autocorrect. of course I meant "Estel".

Author Reply: I know--I do my best to turn autocorrect off, but it still works its brainless will from time to time to my embarrassment. Heh!

This shows great promise!

Earle actually disarmed one of the Twins, eh? Impressive.

I had to remind myself in the reading that the fruition of this hope will take another sixty years or so.

Author Reply: Those sixty years were ones of constant learning--and teaching, I suspect. And I wrote of Aragorn disarming one of the Twins in a drabble some years ago. I so strongly suspect that strategy and swordcraft were two of young Estel's best subjects during his years of tutelage under Elrond's people.

Hope that you continue to enjoy this.

I was always intrigued how the Dúnedain received their new leader. I´m curious if all were happy with a chieftain tuned by the elves. A great beginning I looking forward to read more. Thank you. Lai

Author Reply: There have so many stories of this time that I'd delayed presenting my own in detail until now. But it made sense to me that if the young Men who became Rangers of the North entered that brotherhood through training, that Aragorn would choose that route as well. And thank you, Lai!

Oh I hope you have fast updates ready. This is a great beginning thank you.

Author Reply: I hope to update once a week. Hopefully that will be fast enough for you! Heh!

Thanks so, UTfrog.
