Oh, this was lovely. It felt so right. Your characterization of Celebrian was beautiful. Full of confidence and sureness. The perfect counterpart for Elrond.

Thanks for writing.

Lovely to have a new story from you and to see Elrond and Celebrian enjoy some happiness.

Oh, Bodkin--how wonderful to read this! Oh, yes--what was merely a refuge has now indeed become a home, and a good deal because of her!

She slipped under his arm, pressing herself against his lean body and stopping his breath. ‘Perhaps I can help you read this ...’ she pursed her lips as she read a few words, ‘... deeply fascinating document.’ She slipped under his arm, pressing herself against his lean body and stopping his breath. ‘Perhaps I can help you read this ...’ she pursed her lips as she read a few words, ‘... deeply fascinating document.’

Well, excuse me for a moment while I go dunk my head in a bucket of ice water.

Wow, Bodkin.

This is so perfect for Nilmandra's birthday, she loves Elrond/Celebrian stories best of all. I find myself understanding why....

You cracked me up with Celebrian dropping the bombshell about having babies. Elrond's trepidation notwithstanding, was there ever any doubt this elleth could wind him around her little finger? And I love the idea that we are eyewitnesses to the birth of Imladris. What a beautiful story for a beautiful occasion. It is so good to read your work again. I think we've all missed it.

This is SO romantic! I really like the lover's games, as Elrond pretends to ignore her, and she calls him out on it.

What a beautiful gift!

I feel like I am at home again after reading this. I am right back in Imladris, the last homely house east of the sea and in my mind, to a great love story. Your poetic language makes it so beautiful and wonderful to read. You have brought back to life my favorite couple, in my favorite place, and with such words you breathe life into them. Thank you so much for this trip down memory lane.

Author Reply: Happy birthday, Nilmandra.

I've been away from these characters for too long - and it's been far too long since we all immersed ourselves in Middle-earth.

Thank you for your compliments.

Oh, Celebrian, you are wonderful! And just what Elrond needs. I love that you don't make her timid or stuffy or any of the other things I've read.

deeper and wilder and more passionate. Her mother’s daughter, undoubtedly, but her father’s, too. Strong and wilful, generous and kind, understanding and intelligent.

Perfect! She definitely knows exactly how to deal with an elf like Elrond, and all for his better! Great story, thank you for sharing!

Author Reply: I think Celebrian is exactly what Elrond needs - someone who loves him for what he is, not what he represents. He's been on his own for far too long - friends are great, but family is family. Not that he gets to be too happy for too long. Fate couldn't allow that!

Thank you.

How lovely to see this interlude in their life together.

Poor Elrond - he has a lot to learn about the realities of bringing up children...

Author Reply: Perhaps elven children are more reasonable ... ... ... No, just won't happen!

Thank you.

‘It is home, is it not?’ she said contentedly. ‘Somewhere to belong.’

Lovely. This is a peaceful, very beautiful story. What a nice gift for Nilmandra.

Author Reply: Thank you. I like to see a happy Elrond, freed (for a while) from the cares of his role in the world.

That was exquisitely beautiful! So full of emotion. Sign. I miss your writing.

Author Reply: Thank you. I miss this, too. It got so I could write little emotional pieces, but they lacked - well, plot. It might come back to me. I enjoyed writing this.
