You Better Watch Out...  by Ellie 14 Review(s)

I'm writing you because I think you are one of Fionil's close friends. I was delighted to see the rest of his story being posted. I replied to the first posting thanking whoever was posting it and asking her to thank his family for allowing it to be posted. I haven't heard back, so don't know if my reply was even read.

I too, miss him very much.

P. S. I plan to read your stories in the future.

This is too good to leave alone ;-). The terror of the night "Glorfindel, the Balrog slayer". I had to laugh at that.

Eew, yes, Elf-on-the-Shelf is creepy!

Sending good thoughts your way. I was just thinking of Fiondil the other day... Now I must go back and seek out his Yuletide EA tale; I'm sure there was at least one of them, if I'm remembering right. RL has kept me away from SoA for several months, and I'm very relieved to find it still here when I had a few free moments to return.

Ohhhhhhhh! Too funny! You set up the beginning nicely, just ambiguous enough to wonder for a bit exactly whose point of view we were sharing. I have just been looking at some of my "Favorites" list here, and re-read author Chris's decade old story from the point of view, not of a mother Mirkwood Elf, but a mother spider. As you have done here, it takes us a bit to see who is really talking. You really ought to go read Virtuella's two stories as well. And I agree with the other reviewers. Those "Elf" dolls have faces which ride between "cute" and straight ahead stare disturbing! Kaylee's offer to tuck you in at the Cliff House for a rest made me think of something. Let us call for another virtual wake at the Cliff House on Christmas Eve. After our Midnight Services, meet there. We could do a standing silence toward the western window, in memory of our friend who has flown that way. Then turn East and watch the Christmas dawn and celebrate together the coming of The Light of the World. I would bring mulled cider to toast the dawn, and a pan of the cheesy potato dish which shows up on every occasion here in the Rocky Mountains, from sad to celebrating. We should invite the Wiseman crew to join us. You never know who might turn up! To all of you in this fandom, thank you for the world of hope you create. And a joyous Merry Christmas and hopeful New Year to all!

I just finished Elf Academy for the umpteenth time Ellie and remember that Fiondil mentions this legend. I am sure that he is giggling just as I am.

BTW. Did anything ever come of the EA4 project? I have been rather out of broadband range since moving home and have lost touch with things in this virtual world.

Hilarious! I loved it, and I think Fiondil would be glad you posted it. Well done!

"It just has been a really, really bad year, but I have had one and almost a half good days in a row so far this week, so that is a great blessing. I hope the upward trend continues."

I hope the upward trend continues, too! Ai, nettenya. *biggest hugs* Not just because I hope for Elf Academy 4 some day (although I would be lying if I said I never hope for it...) - but again, absolutely no pressure, your health comes first!! (Still, if there's any way I can help with EA...I have entirely too much time on my hands to ponder whether I could have done more for Atto, or for you and all the other betas...)

*sends you my Thranduil's healer, Nestorion* He's a Master like Elrond, although Elrond still probably would have much to teach him, but I think he's just as good. (And Prince Thranduil wishes to inform you that his Nesta's medicines aren't ick, if you've behaved well anyway. :P Yes, he's a rather young elfling. *giggle*)

*tucks you in bed at the Cliff House*

Tye-melin,

Kaylee

OMG, that is rich! Yes, friend Fiondil, do get your exercise today! Heh! I love it!

Author Reply: Thank you very much! I am pleased you enjoyed it. I think Fiondil will definitely get his exercise :-)

Oh, Atto will be rolling in his grave all right. *shakes head* This was fantastic, disturbing and funny at the same time. It reminds me of Virtuella's "Orcs at School" and "Orcs at Home"! Really well done, Ellie. I am sure Atto Fiondil liked it. I know I do. But I like my Elf intact, thank you!! *hugs young Thranduil* Mine! :P

I hope Real Life isn't being too hard on you these days Ellie, it's been a long time since I've heard from you! *sends hugs to you and all Atto's friends*

Merry Christmas!!

Kaylee

Author Reply: Fantastic, disturbing and awesome are always an excellent achievement. Thank you so very much! I haven't read those two orc stories you mentioned. I may have to go look them up. I prefer my elves intact as well :-)

Real Life has pretty much sucked this year, but I am hoping that 2016 will be better. It just has been a really, really bad year, but I have had one and almost a half good days in a row so far this week, so that is a great blessing. I hope the upward trend continues.

I am hoping that getting up the drive, gumption, and nerve to post this story will get me back in gear for writing again. I miss it. I miss Fiondil, too.

Have a joyous Christmas!

Ellie
