Elf Academy 4 - The Unfinished Tales  by Fiondil 9 Review(s)

Seems like Glorfindel is very good with selective memory. Maybe this adventure in Mirkwood has some clue to what is happening in Glorfindel's dreams and that's why he doesn't want to remember them.

Oh, poor Glorfindel. :-( I hope he finds peace, rest and hope soon. Seems like they are finding some pieces to the puzzle at least. Finrod is such a good friend!

And no wonder Legolas was along. That incident seems to be a key... hope they're soon able to dig out what's happening in Glorfindel's dreams. I'm curious to see how Gwyn and Gareth respond to it!

Oh, I love that we are getting a glimpse of an untold adventure!

And I am really enjoying Legolas' increased role in the story.

Ooh, he needed to have a guard at his back, obviously. No wonder he doesn't remember this experience well!

I love how Fiondil yet again, did his research for this story. The places mentioned are, for the most part that I could see, real. *giggles*

Alaska's state flower is the Alpine Forget-me-not, a pretty purple and yellow/white flower. I could not find a reference to Fairbanks having a flower but hey! it's fanfiction! Now the Delphinium L. is a larkspur, very pretty, deep purple or very dark blue colour. Only the very young delphinium plants and seeds are poisonous; if ingested they can cause nausea, twitching muscles, paralysis and even death. But then, the pretty things MUST protect themselves.

..."I wished with all my heart to be back in Valinor with you and Sador giving the Valar grief.” Queue "I'll find my way home" by Gregorian Masters. And every time I hear it I think if Fiondil and cannot control myself. :(

I think it's a good thing Glorfindel finally admitted he's tired. Took long enough! Now to let the 'boys' convince him to let go some of the reigns and relax a bit!

Oh, my, what a cliffhanger!

(I was going to ask earlier in the chapter if this incident was in one of the earlier posted stories, but it appears that it is being told out here, even in brief. Yikes.)

I love Japanese gardens -- so serene. And even with the short growing season in Wiseman, there are things that can be done with sand, and stones, and water features.

I remember one place in the local public Japanese garden, where there was a patch of sand, and a small rake, and a bench, and visitors were encouraged to rake different patterns into the sand and then sit and contemplate the lines. And another place where a trickle of water slowly filled a bamboo tube -- when it got full, it would fall over onto a rock, with a musical boom, letting the water flow into a basin below, and then empty, would tip back upright to catch the falling water. And the little waterfall... there were many places suited to quiet meditation, and the garden was as beautiful in the snow as it was in any other season.

Oh, Jesus, he got stung! I fear to imagine what spider venom could have done to him - although, of course, cruel creature as I am I had Thranduil lose his late-born daughter to a spider bite, so I don't have the right to complain, do I?

I love it how Legolas mirrors his father's mannerisms sometimes. *g*

Author Reply: That's no problem Aranadhel, but honestly, please, don't tahnk us all of the time. We'd be happy if you just read the chapter, enjoy and them comment. Believe me, we take as much joy out of the reviews as Arthur did!
