Elf Academy 4 - The Unfinished Tales  by Fiondil 9 Review(s)

Oh mercy! What an encounter!

So the Watcher was more than a mere creature. That was a breathtaking chapter.

I like this bunch of mortals, with all their questions. I hope we'll see more of them.

Yikes!! So it looks like Alaska has multiple pits of Utumno that didn't get cleaned out?? Oh boy. And it takes THREE Maia to deal with it? Ouch.

I loved Finrod's internal dialogue as he is being pulled into the water by this hideous thing - but something tells me that where Glorfindel and Finrod are concerned, they're basically just not going to die because Namo appears ready to stand on his head to keep them from wrecking havoc in Mandos again!

Legolas' reaction - poor guy. Seems like Glorfindel's not the only one with post-traumatic issues that need addressing. Good thing Elrond is training - Ron already has his hands full.

And a Mortal who knows about elves... curiouser and curiouser! Can't wait to see what part these five play.

Now, they really ought to have thanked the three Maiar, I think. And of course Olorin would say THAT! Heh!

I can appreciate Legolas's shock--the last time he faced such a creature was just before they lost Gandalf, and last time it was Frodo who was being dragged into the lake. The Enemy really wants Glorfindel and Finrod gone--that's obvious. Now, to see how they handle the mortals.

So, it was a watcher. That was kind of a surprise. I feel sorry for the mortals. I hope they get an explanation that will satisfy them. Maybe they will swell the ranks of mortal supporters, although with this kind of introduction they could just as easily turn into enemies.

There are times like this when I really miss Fiondil. I would so love giving him input on this chapter. Maybe he's looking over my shoulder and reading it with me.

Atya, Beta Amiga nettenyar,

This chapter was chilling and thrilling, but even so it was a calming respite for me after the vagaries of the Real World. *lights candles for Orlando at the Cliff House* Thankfully you're safe in Mandos and well out of this, Atto. I envy you sometimes. :(

Anyway, I figured it was the/a Watcher in the Water. Cthulhu might be one too, I suppose. o.O

I'm so glad that Manveru, Erunaro and Olorin showed up! I knew Manveru and Erunaro were Michael and Uriel, but Olorin is Raphael, is he? Very interesting. They were a big help to both the Elves and the frightened Mortals, as was...Nate. *smiles tremulously at our favourite Vala* I hope Nate's taking as good care of *you* right now, Atto. I miss you and I love you.

Tye-melin,

Kaylee

I'm with UTfrog. I hope that Namo will explain some things to the humans, too!

Well that was exciting, Mair to the rescue, again!

I thought they were supposed to be staying out of things and letting the chips fall where they may, guess Nate didn't want an influx of customers of the Elder kind. Loved Olerin's remark, sounds a little familiar, but it is still apt.

I will be interested to see just how Loren and company explains things to the Mortals, ah well, wait till next Monday!

Goes back to cleaning up feathers and discussing things with the cat, this is the second dove in two days, I wonder if it is the same one, they are not too smart, so it could be!

Make more tea for Kaylee and reminds her self to dust under the beds.

Pandemonium would be correct. Wow! I do hope Nate shows up again to explain a few things to the poor humans.
