I loved reading this from Éomer’s point of view. Interesting insights into the males mind. Good grief. Great story, Thank you for posting. Author Reply: Glad to hear you came to like Éomer’s point of view in the end ;-D

Wow!, I have one few words for this Éomer and Jerk is just one of them. I don’t like him. Great writing to make me feel something so intense for this character. Author Reply: LOL, that was not really my intention, though he certainly has his faults. He will learn better eventually and there are reasons why he guards his heart so well.

Well, all is explained now -- and it turns out that I wasn't all that far off the mark originally. I suspected that she had been in love with a young man -- one of her father's knights, perhaps -- who'd been killed on the Field of Pelennor or perhaps at the Black Gate. It turns out that Lothiriel DID lose a young man whom she had loved -- but although he was a man of Gondor, he was not one of her father's men (more the reverse) and he died in a different time and place than I had imagined. It's lovely to see that she and Eomer have managed to clear up all their misunderstandings and admitted that they've fallen in love with each other in spite of themselves! Author Reply: Yes, you were pretty near the mark, weren't you! When I first wrote the wedding night scene, I actually included a few more hints, but all my test readers guessed at the identity of the man she was in love with, so I took them out again to muddy the waters ;-D Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the ride! So lovely that you chose the last scene to happen at the cozy hunting lodge. The first time this hunting lodge was mentioned in the previous chapters, I wondered when they will return there, added bonus is that Elfwine is part of the chapter. Thank you for posting your story and this is the literal equivalent of a chocolate cake for me. Author Reply: I thought the hunting lodge would be a place where they could just be themselves and I wanted to show their new family life. And I'm so pleased to hear you liked the story - I love chocolate cake, so comparing my story to one is a big compliment ;-) Lia

Enjoyed this chapter very much, it's so romantic and reads like a wedding night. Sort of a second wedding night, I think. Author Reply: Yes, exactly! Only this time round much nicer, I hope.

I enjoyed the scene with the Dunlending's female leader, Lothy is such an invaluable asset to Rohan too. I'm glad they will finally have the "talk". Author Reply: I think that Eomer too knows she's an asset, just finds it a bit difficult to admit at the moment. And yes, 'the talk' coming up ;-)

Their reunion scene was so romantic, I'm very curious about how you will portray the Dunlendings. Author Reply: Thank you! I feel rather sorry for the Dunlending women and especially children, losing all the men.

Very awkward but funny scene with Eomer bulldozing into Aragorn's chambers. The detail about their active use of the palantir for tactical reasons. I've always thought that it's a very useful tool Author Reply: Yes, I thought that even though only the Orthanc stone is really still useable (so no communication between stones), it could still be useful to spy on the enemy's movements.

I'm thankful that the battle was concluded fast, Eomer's conversation with Faramir and Aragorn were very helpful in giving some insight about Lothiriel. Author Reply: I like Faramir and Aragorn very much, so it was nice to be able to include them in this story. And Faramir in particular would of course have known Lothiriel from childhood.
