Wow! Another good one. You've captured very well the uncertain sense of loss I felt when finishing LotR.

Sugokatta! It was the most intriguing piece I've read in a long while.

Author Reply: Arigatou! I'm very late with this response - gomen nasai!

Once I had the idea of flying over Middle-earth on the back of an eagle, I couldn't let it go!

This chapter was...interesting to say the least and I am anxious to find out what they are going to cut from him...but I don't think this one deserves an R rating. It certainly sounds like a horror chapter, but I think it's more PG-13. I'm thinking that the R rating had better be saved for the next chapter.

Oooh!!! I LOVE this! As someone who often has odd, fanciful and sometimes disturbing dreams (along with the occasional prophetic type dream thrown in - sometimes correct, sometimes not - so I never count on them!) I can sympathize. Great job setting the mood and theme for each dream. Beautiful imagery! Bravo! Blessings!

Author Reply: I too have had odd, fanciful (and sometimes disturbing) dreams all my life. I used to keep a dream journal, filled it and started another one. So, from one "chronic dreamer" to another, thank you for your kind review!

This is *such* a powerful dream! I had to read this through twice to really appreciate all the subtleties and your exquisite writing. The one thing that truly set Frodo apart from all other hobbits was his dreams, and you're showing this beautifully.

Author Reply: Thank you so much! I was worried, when I posted this, that readers would miss some of the themes and messages -- certainly a good knowledge of the books, appendices and even a bit of the Silmarillion is needed to have enough background to *get* this dream.

But even without those, hopefully it offers enough for readers' interpretations...

Thank you again.

What a wonderful incredible dream for Frodo...Sam the eagle.
When I grow up, I want to write like this. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Author Reply: Well, I still haven't grown up... and am not likely to do so any time soon. :)

But thank you for your kind words!

I'm assuming that that means that you'll tell us about Frodo's original dream in the next vignette. By the way, this one was just...fantastic!

Author Reply: Thank you! And, as I have planned it so far, you would be assuming correctly...
