Mwahaha! That will teach Aragorn to jinx himself. I love how you incorporated an animal's natural ability to sense ... disturbances. *loves Pippin*

I really liked this, the ducklings, Scamp in a sweater and hat, the beauty of a meteor shower, and Aragorn having such a special birthday. And thank you so much for the birthday wishes, my friend and mentor :-)

What a lovely chapter this is...fluff and all. I broke up laughing after Pippin dressed up the puppy in clothes. How many of us adults have done the same thing to our pets at one time or another? I found the description of meteor showers intriguing...as well as Bilbo's tale of 'metal falling from the sky'. It seems reasonable that someone at some point would have seen (either at the time or after the fact) an actual meteorite impact on the earth. Ok, so we have a bit of angst thrown in here for good measure, I see...you write such great cliffhangers. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing the next chapter!

How I would love to see a picture of little Pippin dressing Scamp up in those clothes :)

Pippin and the ducklings - I wish he could keep one, too! I loved this part: "Towels and soap sat next to the other, which Pippin had eyed suspiciously throughout supper. Tub meant bath, and bath meant bed -- and after a long nap in the warm sun after lunch, he wasn’t ready for bed just yet." That is SO realistically childlike! And Aragorn constantly being stuffed with food is just terrific. Thank you - I needed something cheerful and cuddly to read today!

“Not in this case,” Bilbo insisted. “Among Men, it is the guest of honor who receives gifts, as I recall. Therefore, we are all equally scandalous and without manners.” I have been thinking a lot about Bilbo lately. I think that a lot of his charm comes from the contrasts in his character . . . his British kind of sensibilities about manners and protocol, juxtaposed with his "Tookish" love of adventure and disregard for the establishment . . . and here we have Frodo coming along with his own contrasts in his own character . . . bookish but also outdoorsy. Have fun! Now, when does the h/ccc start? I'm glued to the monitor, waiting!

Oooo, how could you?! All this cute and comfortable and then....... I like the story about Nienna's tears, I believe it would fit with Tolkien's work quite well as an explaination for the showers. Now, I can wait for more. *wonders what's out there*

That's evil!!! Another cliffhanger!! What a wonderful story you have woven with Nienna's tears. And Aragorn's speaking of hope was very in character. Beautiful chapter!
