Along Came A Spider  by Jay of Lasgalen 13 Review(s)

Well done angst, Jay. I hadn't considered this option - I guess I had in my head that when Namo said 'come' the only choices were yes, to go or no, become a houseless spirit. But Elrohir's body still has some potential for life, if he can bare the fight. So this was a nice inbetween, with Namo letting him return to the fight, even though its one he may still lose. I don't envy him his recovery.

Author Reply: You'll notice that at the end of the last chapter Elrohir was just outside the gates of Mandos, and he never actually took Námo's hand. He was in between the worlds, and could still go forward or back. I wanted it to be his choice - not pulled back unwillingly, or kicked out by Námo for Elladan's sake.

Well the beginning of this chapter certainly matched the ending of the last one--evil author! I could not read through fast enough to find out what would happen so I had to read it twice--once to satisfy my curiosity and once to get the details. :) Great angst there. And I liked the end with Calmacil--both her comment about stubborness and Elladan's suspicion about the water. That was good comic relief. Looking forward to seeing the next chapter!

Author Reply: I hope the ending of this chapter doesn't seem quite so evil - no cliffie this time. Next chapter will be when RL permits, but not too long. Lots more angst ahead.

Well, that was dramatic! I liked the scenes with Namo. They were convincingly done. He seemed very Vala like.

The resuscitation of Elrohir was well done too. I wondered how you were going to do that but once you revealed what Elladan would do, it just seemed right.

Author Reply: I'm glad you found Námo convincing - I wasn't sure how to write him, or what a Vala would be like. I knew Elladan would find a way to bring him back - I'm glad it seemed right.
