Oh, I love it, I love it! The reference to the Music gave me chills. It was so lovely. What a wonderful job. It is so deep.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. The Music is becoming part of a lot of my stories ("Sing Me Home", "Light Out of Darkness", and others). I love the idea of the world being "sung" into being.

'You are woven into the Great Music, Frodo Baggins, Elrond thought, and your deeds will endure even after the memory of Men fade. The trees will whisper the tale, the land and waters will remember, and the stars will sing your name.'

Now that is lasting fame. Not the ephemeral recollection afforded by songs and stories, that can change with every telling.

And Sam comes over as a truly great and overlooked hobbit - yet he would never think it of himself.

It's very true that maps are fairly meaningless in advance and only take on a life when they are telling of places you have been.

Good Elrond.

Author Reply: I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I think we learn the most about characters when seen through the eyes (and thoughts) of *other* characters, especially those of other races.

" . . . . the stars will sing your name. . . . "

Ah, shirebound, I think that this is the most poetic piece of writing I have ever heard from you.

Every phrase just resonates with rhythm and melody. It is truly a beautiful piece of work. A perfect jewel. It's like a scene that is still in motion somewhere in the universe, a scene seen by some singer and transformed into an earthly fabric that can be read and loved.

Thank you for sharing your vision with us,

esamen

Author Reply: Oh my, thank you so very much. Elwen's stories inspire Song and Music, and I wanted to give her a hopefully-worthy gift for her birthday.

I love this quiet scene between Lord Elrond and Frodo. Elrond's impressions of Sam and his wonder at how Frodo could continue...beautiful story. I like that even after all is gone the elves know that the very land and sky will remember what was risked and accomplished.

Author Reply: Thank you! It isn't always easy for me to "get into" the mind of an Elf, especially in describing their impressions of the accomplishments of mortals.

Ah! Ah, the Song! I hear it in your words! How beautifully you've expressed this glimpse of the Music.
Thank you for another wonderful treat.
Many blessings,
Mum

Author Reply: Thank you so much. Yes, the Song and the Music are weaving their way through more and more of my stories recently.
