Very nice. I like birds in general and the eagles as characters in Tolkien in particular. Its nice to see something featuring them. I liked the young eagles horror at the "you'll never fly again pronouncement" and the young eagles dreaming of hearing people cry "the eagles are coming." Very well done. Author Reply: I didn't want to waste the research I did on the eagles for my last chapter, so decided to use them again. I tried to think from an eagle's POV, and thought that to not be able to fly must be the worst thing they could imagine. Thanks for the review!

Oh, Jay, this is fabulous! So heartwarming. So creative. And a bit sad, too, for the old eagle. And, of course, we all know that Meneldor did have his chance to do heroic deeds... - Barbara Author Reply: Thank you! I was doing some reading on the eagles, as they appeared in the last chapter of Along Came A Spider, and thought this poem (a long-time favourite) would fit perfectly. And Meneldor did indeed do his bit.
