Safe Haven  by songspinner 13 Review(s)

What a wonderful conversation! The way Aragorn slowly but persistently drew Faramir to talk about what was bothering him -- and already to have been thinking of a solution -- is just terrific.

*Aragorn laid one hand on his shoulder. "But you have been through so much betrayal and loss that sometimes you could not countenance anything else."

Faramir nodded, speechless again in the face of this man reading him so well.*

What Faramir needed more than anything else was to feel valued, and Aragorn needed (finally) a place to belong, and use openly all the wisdom he's accumulated over the long years. And I love your mention of Pippin.

:D

I think what sparked that bit was the fact that when Faramir wakes up, he seems to already know Aragorn, or at least who he is, and loves him already. It seemed to me that that relationship would then be vital for the young Steward as he found his place. And as for Aragorn's persistence - I suppose that was my own teaching and crisis counseling background sneaking in when I wasn't looking... :)

Hello! I really enjoyed this story. It was nice to see Faramir in a different light than in the books where he is always certain of what to do. (At least, it seems he is that way to me). ^^ I also loved the humor provided by Pippin where he planned to kidnap Faramir and take him to the Shire. The brotherly bond developed between Aragorn and Faramir was a nice touch also. Thanks for a great story!
