I love this story. It is not going to be easy for Thranduil to help his son through this - and he has Lasgalen to run at a very tricky time, too. I am glad he will take some advice from Elrond, at least. (Half starved sounds as if it would be an over-statement. This is going to get much harder before it gets better.)

That's a wonderful story, which I am glad I discovered. The characters are wonderfully described and your Thranduil is like the ones I like to read about. Thanks for such a nice writing, Cas Author Reply: Thank you. I'm an avid fan of the Elvenking and try to do him right. Valar know, he gets enough unjust treatment, that poor Elf.

I normally don't read too many elf-stories; but this one has caught my eye and kept it. Great to see a convincing story of Thranduil as a fiercely devoted father; not that JRRT ever said he wouldn't be, but some fanfiction writers assume otherwise. I agree with Thranduil - I wouldn't want Artanis poking around in my head either!

Thranduil is a very brave Elf to undertake Enadar's psychological healing without help, but I can't say I blame him. Galadriel might do wonders, but there is something about outside shrinks that just gives one the shivers. If all the family gathers together and really works at it, I'll bet they could do wonders with Endadar. No son of mine shall ever be poked in their minds by Artanis. Too late for that, Thranduil. Enadar also is a brave and loving Elf to risk leaving his safe place for this stranger called Ada.

Very beautiful chapter. This is getting more and more thrilling to me. Now he recognizes his ada! That is wonderful for Thranduil. Has this poor prince no mother??? Thanks for the update.

Wow, what a moment for Thranduil. I found his distrust of Galadriel to be interesting. It's understandable, of course. But I wonder if he'd persist in that if he thought his son needed her. I suppose the point is that he doesn't think that; he thinks her intrusion would be harmful.

Very nicely done, the angst is not overdone, you can feel both Thranduil and Eradar's pain. I like how little bits of his memory are coming back and how he connected first with the tree in Lorien. Very elvish! Author Reply: Thank you. Yes, the bit with the ancient tree seemed for me the best way to start reconnecting him with what he used to be.

A very emotional chapter. Well done! Thranduil's reticence about taking his son to Lorien is understandable. Under the circumstance, he can hardly be blamed for wanting nothing more but to get his son home, regardless of whether it is home to his son. Celeborn is being very patient and kind, though, despite his hurt feelings. I like that, for that is how I imagine Celeborn. J

Oi! What a heartrending discovery for the king to make! The character interactions are nicely done, and I love how you weave the histories and relationship into the storyline, instead of giving it to us in a block of narrative. :-)
