| I like the perspective you choose for this chapter. It is a tricky thing to maneuver to write from character’s viewpoint without giving away their identity, but it wonderfully mysterious and entertaining when done well. And you have done it beautifully. :-) Author Reply: Thank you. :) | |

| Poor Enadar - he has spent an ENTIRE AGE locked up, half-starved and abused in the deepest pits of Dol Guldur!! Part of me can't help but feel that he would have been better off passing into the care of Mandos until he was reborn. I hope that between them all, these elves can bring him back to some semblance of normality - though it seems unlikely. And on another point:- 'Thranduil hesitated for a moment, but when he caught a glimpse of Galadriel watching them intently, he shook his head.' I feel for Galadriel, you know. It doesn't matter what she does, she is always treated as some kind of enemy alien by most of Celeborn's kin. Have they not heard of racial prejudice? Bigotry? Visiting the sins of the fathers (or uncles and cousins) upon the heads of their children? Two ages she has been Celeborn's wife. Two ages since the majority of her fellow Noldor princes were killed. Yet Thranduil still can't bear to be in the same forest as her. Author Reply: It's not about the Kinslaying at all. In "Between the Darkness and the Light" you can see what Thranduil's main problem with Galadriel really is. :) | |

| Ohh, I get it. Yeah that last bit was a little murky. But this way, with Enadar being Thranduil's son, is even more interesting. Does Legolas know about the older brother? I can see it being both ways. . .either Thranduil never tells Legolas on the theory that Enadar is never returning anyway, or that Enadar's presence has always haunted the house. Thranduil has so much love in his heart that it hurts. | |

| Soledad! I love it! You've handled Enadar's first moments out of his hell and torment with tenderness and love. It nearly broke my heart when he stammered "Ada" to Thranduil and needed to know his own name! *sob* *sniff* Your depiction of Thranduil is wonderful to read. He is still proud and stubborn, but the love and caring that he is showing to Enadar is so well crafted! More please! :-)) MM | |

| What a sadly sweet story. This elf is rescued bodily, but still is a long way from back from wherever he has gone. I like the character of Alagos especially. And the glimpses of Enadar's mind are convincingly done. Author Reply: Thank you. Alagos has - or will have - important parts in my various other stories, which, sadly, won't fit here. | |

| Soledad! I really like this! I didn't leave a review on the first chapter because I was too anxious to move on to the second! You capture the fear and horror of the Elves without being graphic. I love the tragic history behind why Haldir is so haughty and proud. Wonderfully imagined. In the first chapter the words work well to create the pain of loss and the sense of near oblivion that poor Enadar has had to endure. I love that his father's voice is his lifeline back (hopefully) toward the light. Wonderful. Awaiting an update, hopefully soon. | After all that, the beginnings of a happy ending! When the twist ending is happy, then you know your characters have gone through a rough time. I very much enjoyed this story, especially the bit at the end where Enadar, who had no idea who Alagos was, still snuggled up and grabbed a braid -- all those primitive memories-that-can't-be-remembered coming back and making him an infant once more. They'll both have a lot of healing to do, but they'll be all right. Author Reply: Thank you. Although it's actually Thranduil, not Alagos, whom he grabs. I must take a look at that sentence, it seems it wasn't clear enough. :) | |
