Ah, Lindelea, so properly joyful! And it's time indeed for a feast of welcome and thanksgiving, as their healed Thain is ready to rejoice and eat with everyone else! Lovely!

Author Reply: Thanks!

Happy ending! Of course, I knew Pip would come but it was a lovely story to see all through Woodruff's eyes. She is a wonderful character I think. Thank you for a very enjoyable read! :D

Author Reply: Ah, thank you! I have always enjoyed playing Woodruff off against various Tooks, so it was nice that she got to have her own story. There is just one more chapter, to wrap things up and tie the two timelines together. It's in beta right now, but I hope to post it next week.

Ha! I knew it was Ted... hehee! Nicely done!

Author Reply: It would have taken a lot of work on the author's part for it *not* to be Ted. Good thing for Ted and Sweetie that I'm as lazy as I am.

Thanks!

Yippee! Yaaay! What a perfect ending to all this!! I *love*love*love* it! Everyone's amazement and bemusement, and Pippin simply taking it all in stride--so very, very lovely! *sigh* Thanks so much for this lovely look through Woodruff's eyes!

Author Reply: O hurrah! Endings are such tricky things; you don't want to let people down by seeming to rush, or by writing an anticlimax... but all stories must come to an end some time. So glad it satisfies.

There is actually one more chapter, which ties the two timelines together, to be posted next week sometime.

You're welcome, and thanks to you in return!

Yay! He finally woke up. That whole scene, when he first gets up, just gave me warm feeling.

What a sweet, hobbity way to end this. They're happy, jesting and dancing. Just wonderful.

Thanks.

Connie B.

Author Reply: Not quite the end. There is one more chapter that ties the two stories together at last. Look for it next week sometime if all goes well.

I just love a happy ending. Hope it doesn't make my stories too predictable.

Thanks!

Bravo!! Bravisimo!! Bravo!!

A fantastic finish to a marvelous story!!!

'Well,' he says with a wink. 'I'm back.'

Absolutely too well done!!

*Loud Applause*

MEWD!!

Author Reply: Thank you! (bowing and blushing)

But not quite the finish. Look for a final chapter next week, if all goes well.

Appreciate the encouragement. I must admit Woodruff has always been the OC of mine that I found most intruiging, though Ferdi and Hilly and Tolly have more adventures to write about than she does. *g*

Thanks again for all your encouragement along the way.

Hooray! Now, there's the chapter I've been waiting for!
Pippin's finally healed and up again. And not only that: he's as good as new!
Another hooray for the marvelous Ent draught and those who provided it!

While reading this chapter I felt like Woodruff and Merry and Sam, I just couldn't believe it! But this convinced me:

"Pippin slaps Merry on the back and laughs, and Merry throws his arms about his cousin, and the two begin a jig, a dance of joy and welcome, while the Mayor looks on, beaming."

Great chapter :)

Author Reply: So glad to oblige. There were times when it seemed as if Pippin would never wake up!

It was certainly satisfying to make Pippin as good as new after putting him through the wringer for so long, poor lad. And of course, in "At the End of His Rope" he has one more encounter with Ent-draught, so it's a good thing he didn't drink it all up in this incident.

Celebrations are so much fun to write!

Thanks!

"All's well that ends better," as the Gaffer would say.:)

That was a totally sweet chapter, and well worth the wait.

Everything fell into place. I'm glad Bilbo apologied. He knew he'd overstepped and nearly distroyed the self-confidence of a very worthy healer.
The bit with the teapot was sweet, too. I was hoping Pippin would actually get a chance to explailn himself. And, last but not least, Ted finally declairs his love for Woodruff. To quote a friend of mine in a simular situation, "It's about time.":)

Thanks.

Connie B.

Author Reply: I just love that quote. It would make a good motto to hang over the writing desk.

And you're right, it *was* about time. Although if Ted had declared himself sooner, the story would have been a whole lot shorter. LOL!

Thanks!

*great big goofy grin*

Ah, what a sweet chapter: like your chapter "After a Drought a Deluge" in "Starfire", heaping up all the goodies after the angst, one right after the other.

Bilbo was so sweet and wise in this. I *love* Bilbo.

And that last little bit with her weeping all her stress out on dear Ted, and then his response, and hers... *great big goofy grin again*

Author Reply: Yes, we just love those goodies heaped up and running over.

Ah, I love it when a story elicits goofy grins.

Thanks!

"You have the bulk of my knowledge, Sweetbriar's voice echoed in her memory, the gentle tone taking on a mocking edge as Woodruff's remorseless self-judgment continued. All you are lacking is the weight of experience, and that comes in time."
That sounds exactly like what my older colleagues tell me every day ;-)

I think Bilbo succeded in convincing Woodruff, that she *IS* a very good healer. And the pony she received from Rosemary and the teapot from Pippin tell more than any word. They all respect her!

She only needs a little time (with her beloved) to recover and to see clear again, and then she will feel happy!

Author Reply: And your older colleagues are right!

Good summation of the situation. Yes, Woodruff's confidence was badly shaken, and no, she will never be completely confident, for like every good healer, she knows her limitations and how very much is simply beyond her control. But at least she will keep doing her best for those in her care, and ever striving to widen the base of her knowledge.

Thanks!
