This is wonderful. I can't wait for more!

Author Reply: Thanks! Will keep updating every day or every other day as long as I get the computer time to do it.

Ah, so she was there at his birth - very kewl - enjoying this tale!

Author Reply: Yep! I love the irony of her being at his birth, and at so many of his near-deaths... Wait, that doesn't sound quite like I thought it would sound...

Excellent! Wonderfully fleshed out characters and an intrigueing story (I'm sure I've misspelled "intrigueing"*grins*). I will eagerly follow this tale!

Author Reply: Well if you did I won't tell a soul! Cannot tell you how many typos I've made in reviews and only noticed *after* pressing the button, when it's too late to go back and fix!

Thanks!

This is powerful. Heartwrenching. A beautifully written, terrible and dreadful thing. *shivers*

Author Reply: Oh, thank you. I do appreciate your comments. Please let me know if the angst ever seems "over the top". I'm afraid I'm rather pushing my own limits in this story.

Absolutely magnificent start. Am looking forward to seeing various incidents through Woodruff's eyes. Will be interesting to find out what she really thinks of Pippin.

Heartbreaking chapter. Good thing I've read "Rope". How long until the next one?

Author Reply: I would have said "right away" but for the fact that I've come down with another bug and have no energy. It means that the time I would spend typing stories in, or writing, or researching, is at the moment spent sleeping.

So, the best I can say is ASAP.

Think good thoughts.

Thanks!

O, Pip! I loved the title to this: Deathwatch. So deliciously chilling. Anyways, another surely wonderful story is off to an already wonderful start. And this time it is from someone else's POV -- I have to say, I do so love reading things from unusual POVs, it has to be one of my favorite way to read about events in stories. I'm glad I already know Pip's outcome in this predicament, 'At the End of His Rope' has to be a favorite of mine out of all of your fics. Keep it up, lassie! : )

Author Reply: Oh, I know, I hesitated while titling the chapter. It sounded so... melodramatic, somehow. But Woodruff is eminently practical, and she'd call it what it is.

You love unusual perspectives? One of these days I'll have to publish my "tenth Walker" story. It is told from a *very* unusual perspective. Of course, I'll have to see if it fits SoA's guidelines; if not I'll have to publish it on LJ or ffnet. But that story is sitting on the back burner right now... Got my hands full!

Thanks for the encouragement.

Wow! This is a great beginning. So sad, yet hopeful for those who know the outcome. It is going to be fun to see a beloved character through someone else's eyes for a change. I am so looking forward to where this will go.

Thanks.

Author Reply: Thanks! It ought to be interesting to see a perspective of Pippin from outside the family. Woodruff is not related to him, except perhaps by marriage. (Later in life she marries a Took. Does that make her a "poor lass" or a lucky one?)

Very moving and sad. Here pippin is dying,as the healer begs him to hang om for Merry's sake. I wonder if they will see each other again,or if a miracle will happen on the edge of death...

Nice...

Author Reply: Ummm. If you like spoilers, read "At the End of His Rope". If not, just hang on as chapters are added. I promise to have a resolution for better or worse by story's end. (Buckle your seat belt. It's gonna be a rocky ride.)

This is a great start. If you need any encouragement to continue please consider it given -yes, yes, yes!

Author Reply: Thanks, thanks, thanks!

(Encouragement is always welcome.)

I love Woodruff. Nearly as much as Ferdi - although her adventures tend not to be so exciting. Although I suppose trying to keep Pippin from cashing in his checks is pretty challenging. (I am glad I know he survives: he doesn't seem to be in a good way at the moment.)

Author Reply: Well, perhaps you'll see a few more of Woodruff's facets... you've pretty much only seen her as a healer, responding to some medical plot point or other... (Wonder what people will think of her earlier years? She's been a lot of fun to imagine and write!)

No, Pippin's not in a good way in the moment. As I recall he was at death's door at this point in "Rope", with his hand on the knob, and the door is starting to swing open.

Thanks!
