And in this case the dread dream has come true. At least he comes to know that Boromir had truly redeemed himself. Author Reply: That would be great to read that in another fic actually-- the fact that Faramir would reconcile Boromir's death and that he was also redeemed by his actions of saving the hobbits and as a brother accepts his death as an honorable one. I would love to read that.

No, time may not heal all wounded hearts and minds, unfortunately. I rejoice that Frodo will perhaps find the healing in the Undying Lands, but Sam will probably always grieve that the love Frodo received in his own home was not enough. Author Reply: Yes, i think so too- i am glad that Frodo would find healing too but some hurts go too deep as we know and things cannot stay the same. Sam will grieve but he was meant to be whole and one for many years. :) Thank you for your thoughts!

A good reason to gather then, and a worthy one to so remember. Author Reply: Thank you! i think this is a fitting scene to create and i would love to honor Boromir for what he did!

Indeed, if more were like Bilbo! Again, a movie moment I treasure! Author Reply: I love that moment from the movies and glad that PJ included that. :)

I understand the rationale, but am still angry that he was willing to sacrifice Bilbo completely! Author Reply: Thorin could be hard headed at times, very stubborn which is a character trait i find in Turin too which i find a fascinating character in Tolkien as well.

He has reasons to know misgivings, but more reasons in the end to be glad that the Hobbit came anyway, of course. But, then, we have the benefit of hindsight....

But then the Dwarves had a lot to prove to Bilbo as well. At least he proved to have amazing integrity, surprising even himself in the end.
