| This is very nice, perelleth. I enjoyed your story on Fëanor's sons, and this one is wonderful too. My favourite was the one a about Finrod (but he's my favourite character in the Silmarillion). It was interesting that you chose it from Itaril's perspective, since I've always liked her, but few people write about her. Are you going to do one about Finarfin's house next? Whose perspective will you do it from? Finduilas'? I hope you do it from hers. I've always liked her a lot too. Great job! Unfortunately, this series is not going beyond Mithrim, and I planned to stick to Huan and Idril's pov. | This is a very powerful look at the Feanorians - I like how the collar made Huan uneasy, and how he could read the sincerity of the twins' smiles. Dogs are not deceitful, so they recognize falsehood when they see it. Yet, he still cared for them, as most dogs do their master. Very nicely done. Author Reply: Yes, you noticed it! The twins' is the one that looks more "canine" to me, that low growling when the dogs hear nervous voices or violence mounting around them... I liked it, too. Thanks for taking the time to read and review!I hoped that posting them as a whole it would be less.. hard for the reader. I tend to lose the thread when reading drabbles, and I guess it's common occurence... | |

| I really enjoyed this. I usually don't like drabbles, but you did these very well. Huan is one of my favourite characters in the Silmarillion, and I thought it was neat how you showed his view of each of the sons of Fëanor. I hope you get to Maedhros at some point too. I thought that posting them as a whole they'd get more sense and would be easier for the reader...I'm glad you liked Huan's voice, and yes, we'll get to Maedhros, it only depends on Fingon's schedule! | |

| Wow! Perelleth! This was such a unique and interesting view point. Being partial to hounds, I loved the glimpse into Huan's mind. Of course, he was no ordinary dog. "Kinslayers' was especially powerful. Huan's review of what these Elves were like was so candid and then in the end, his own nature came out to be pleased to be counted among them. And he's loyal. Just like a good canine companion should be. Very good. All of these. Karen Author Reply: Oh! I love dogs, too, although right now I’m owned by a cat… See, my grandfather used to keep hounds even when he was too old and blind to go hunting. There was one particular beast –my favourite- who seemed to have developed a different relationship with each member of the family, and if you looked at him, you could almost tell what he thought of any particular uncle or cousin! | Oh wow. I'm not much of a drabble fan but this suite of them was powerful in its brevity and simplicity. What a stroke of genius to use Huan as the POV! He's loyal but wary. Author Reply: Well, I do not vlike drabbles very much, either,so I doubly appreciate your a) reading, b)reviewing mine! I lack the skill and confidence to write a long story, so I’m “drabbling” and “ficleting” my way around, trying to find my own voice. Drabbles come to me as plot ideas, but I find myself unable to turn them into something longer *and* interesting...In this case, Huan came in quite naturally, as I needed a close-to-earth point of view for these –to me- vastly unappealing characters…thanks again, daw, it’s always encouraging to read from you. | |
