Very cute vignette - loved Faramir's line about the hobbits having walked enough already! Author Reply: Thanks, Raksha! I never tire of ways my beloved hobbits might be tended and find healing.

Yes, they certainly have done enough walking recently! How wonderful that king and Steward both fuss so. Lovely! Author Reply: Thank you. There can never be too much fuss over our hobbit heroes. :)

And so sweet an image here, of four Hobbits resting, content for the first time in months with what they have and one another's company! Author Reply: This image of contented hobbits makes me very happy. I like to think that Faramir would take a special interest in ensuring their comfort.

Hello Shirebound, Oh, that was so sweet! Kittens and Hobbits and plenty of food. I could actually go a nice bowl of hot soup, but it's late and I should probably head off to bed soon. Thank you for these lovely stories. I will read more from the list you sent tomorrow after work. Goodnight! Maureen :) Author Reply: Thank you, and goodnight to you! I hope you dream about your favorite hobbit(s). One more Sam ficlet you might enjoy is the first chapter of my story "Light Out of Darkness"... http://storiesofarda.com/chapterview.asp?sid=2266&cid=9106

Hello again! This was a very moving piece. So like Sam to struggle with guilt for things beyond his control. Sometimes that good Hobbit sense just deserts him when it's most needed. But that's Survivor's Guilt for you... I loved the scene between him and Elrond and had forgotten that they shared a common experience - trying to reason with a friend at the edge of sanity on the Cracks of Doom. Great work (again). Maureen :) Author Reply: Thank you, Maureen! I'm so happy to contribute Sam stories for you to enjoy. It's fun to bring together unlikely companions, such as Sam and Elrond, and find out what they have in common.

A great AU with a nice twist at the end,as I assumed you meant Aragorn to begin with! Author Reply: Thank you, Linda. I was hoping it wouldn't be obvious until the end that this was Arwen's point of view.
