“What did you do?” Pippin asked warily. He knew that look well.

“Not much,” Merry replied, bolting the door.

*snicker* If I was Aragorn, I'd do nothing, and let the hobbits fret themselves to death.

Author Reply: He might just do that! It would certainly work. :)

"...he consoled himself with the thought that tomorrow was another day, and he was infinitely cleverer than Merry and Pippin."

Don't they teach rangers anything about underestimating the enemy in Dunedain school?

Heehee.

Author Reply: Ah, but Aragorn has only had experience in nice, sedate hobbits. Malicious, prank pulling hobbits are not something he is used to! And he is in trouble. ;)

I dunno about this...Elrond is unhappy, Arwen is upset and snapping at Legolas...it looks to me like Aragorn has shot himself in the foot now. He may just catch it from more than just the hobbits. ...heh-heh... ~TF

Author Reply: I imagine Elrond as being rueful, and Arwen and Legolas seem to have a history of being snappish together: that's how it seemed when I wrote their little confrontation, anyway. I don't know how badly ARagorn has damaged himself, but it should get interesting from here. :)

*howl*guffaw*gulp*snort*giggle*chortle*sigh*wipes eyes*

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!

So far Frodo seems to be enjoying his cousin's discomfiture, though Sam appears to be on their side. Is Frodo going to feel the same way when he finds out *why* they declared war on Aragorn?

And will Legolas and Arwen end up with their own little war going on?

*chuckle*giggle*goes back to read latest chapter again*

Author Reply: Frodo is definitely being the middle man here, but Sam is taking the side of the two people he's known longer. Of course, who knows what they'll both do when they find out the reason for this war!

Legolas and Arwen seem to have some sort of past history of arguments. I can just see them beating on each other like siblings, for some reason. :)

Oh my....That was brilliant!! And this...The bubbles were oozing into the hall, a pink and white tinted mess that smelled strangely of strawberries.

Alas, poor me was drinking coffee at that moment and I almost got it up my nose. That's painful BTW. ;o) The infamous strawberry soap LIVES!!! :oD

Am I right in assuming there's more than just an unmade bed going on w/poor Aragorn? I mean, I can't see Merry just pulling the sheets out and leaving it at that. Right?

Looking forward to the next skirmish in this wickedly delightful story. :oD

Author Reply: I'll have to start putting a warning at the top of each chapter, not to drink anything while reading. I was trying to think up a scent for the bubble bath, and it dawned on me that strawberries are just infamous in this fandom. And it worked. :)

Short-sheeting the bed was all Merry had strength for this time around, but tomorrow is another day. More will be coming soon!

Oh, no! Aragorn has got another think coming...
Thanks for yet another hilarious chapter.
Cheers,

Author Reply: Yes, he certainly does!

Thanks and you're most welcome!
