A Merry War  by Elendiari22 16 Review(s)

I so agree with the last sentence!

Poor Elrond - the atmosphere of studious tranquility that attaches to Imladris is being torn apart. Have others now involved themselves in this war? (I wouldn't put it past Arwen! She must have plenty of experience of dealing with mischief.)

Pippin and Merry must be highly skilled in moving quietly if they were able to drape Aragorn's room in twine without waking him. He'll have to remember that skill in the future - it could come in useful.

Author Reply: Arwen may get into this. After all, she has a bone to pick about that strawberry bubble bath. ;)

Lol, can you just see Aragorn rolling someone's room full of twine as the King? That has enormous fic potential.

*giggle*grin*giggle*

Umm...well this is fun!

And even more fun to know I was of assistance! 0;-)

A scream? Do we even want to know?

Of *course* we do! Did I mention this is *fun*?!?!?!

Author Reply: Your list of pranks is quite valuable: I'm just sort of rolling down the list and taking whatever comes next, lol!

Yes, you want to know who screamed, and why! Stay tuned!

Thanks!

String, huh? Interesting touch. We filled a dorm room once with crumpled newspapers. Took hours to do. Then filled an office with balloons, which also took some time to do and logistics to keep the counselor busy at another school so we have time to finish it all.

Anyway, this is becoming increasingly amusing!

Author Reply: LOL!! That is brilliant! Too bad there aren't balloons in ME; I could have done something like that. :)

Ooooh....Not good, not good at all!! And Aragorn had to get Boromir to help him out...ROTFLOL!!! Sneaky those hobbits are and they're right. If they'd touched the bed or Aragorn himself, they would have been dead. And Merry's right to be shaking. A cheerful happy Ranger who smiled at them cheerfully is a bad, BAD thing!!!

Uh oh...A scream in the library...Collateral damage? Who got pulled into this mess by accident. Am I wrong in thinking Arwen? And if so...Whomever the prankster was, they're dead. Arwen can handle a sword and I'm not just talking about Movie Arwen either. I assume that highly ranked female Elves, especially the Granddaughter of The Lady Galadriel, would know how to defend herself and use something sharp and deadly too.

I hope I'm right. The possibilties are too funny to even think of. :oD

More and soon please!!!

Author Reply: Aragorn is going to do the suspense thing for a little longer, just to make them even more nervous than they are right now. The hobbits have every reason to be terrified. :)

Well, the scream really came out of left field, but I'm thinking it may indeed be Arwen. Remember that little argument she and Legolas were having? I may have to play up that idea. Lol!

More coming soon!

Boromir just smiled, a trifle bemused. Rivendell was turning out to be a much more interesting place than he had originally assumed it would be.

Isn't it! This must be one of the most entertaining places Boromir's ever visited.

A happy, smiling Ranger could only mean trouble.

Hee hee. Someday they'll look back at the pranks they played on their KING and die of embarrassment. Maybe.

Author Reply: I'm sure once Boromir reconciles himself to the idea that these people are not as stately and reserved as he had thought, he will be able to enjoy himself. :)

They'll either die of embarressment or giggle and write it down for posterity. I think they'd be thoroughly pleased to be able to say, "Yes, and we put a snake in his bath and he ranw away screaming!" and such. Lol!

Another great chapter! But how could the hobbits string Aragorn's room with out him hearing them?

Could someone enlighten me on this inside joke about the strawberry bubbles and LOTR? It is one I have not heard.

Waiting for next chapter patiently.

Robin

Author Reply: Well, hobbits can move nearly as silently as the Elves can, so if they did not touch Aragorn while he was sleeping, they wouldn't have alerted him. Not to my mind, anyway.

Strawberry bubblebath is a product of Cassie Claire's "The Very Secret Diaries". They go on about strawberry bubble bath in Rivendell in those fics. It's very slashy, but highly entertaining. :)
