That's me down below. I think I've discovered every way there is to screw up a review. Sorry. ~TF

Author Reply: I thought so; I recognized the '~TF' that you usually put at the end. No worries, I mess up reviews all the time.

Poor Legolas! He was, after all, just being polite and the hobbits were very insistent. Now he's got a nasty hangover and everyone thinks he deservs it.

By this time Boromir must be convinced that everyone in the north is insane.

"Aragorn left Elrond’s study with a smug grin on his face. There was nothing that the hobbits could do that would ever top this."

There's a set up if I ever heard one. *snicker* I so love this story! ~TF

Author Reply: I feel for him, too. I think he'll clear things up in the next chapter.

Poor Boromir. Imagine growing up in a strict court with little amusment, then coming to Rivendell and meeting the mythical King of Men, and watching him pull pranks on two hobbits. It must be completely baffling to the poor man.

Yes, Aragorn has definitely set himself up for a nasty shock. Mwahaha!

Oh, I'm sure if they think long enough about it, Merry and Pippin can come up with something to top it. :D

And I'm nearly certain that Arwen is up to something with Legolas. And the mental picture of Gandalf hauling Aragorn off for a talking-to is just too much!!

Author Reply: Oh, and they will. They most definitely will. :D

Actually, I think Arwen has decided to truce with Legolas. She recognizes that the hobbits got him better than she ever could.

Everytime I picture Aragorn being hauled off, I have to laugh. Oh, the indignity!

That could have been nasty! Not such a good idea, Aragorn. Hobbits are small enough to be quite vulnerable to the size of dogs I should imagine elves favour. The Ringbearer won't appreciate his cousins turning into food-on-the-hoof.

It sounds as if Gandalf has nearly had enough of this!

Author Reply: This was Aragorn showing his blockheaded side. But he wanted to scare the hobbits, and hey. It worked.

Gandalf is going to let Merry and Pippin have one last chance to redeem themselves, and then perhaps he'll speak up.

I am not taking that bet. Poor Merry and Pippin! It won't only be Frodo who has a phobia about dogs now! And then to be encircled by wolves/wargs later on!!!!

Author Reply: I know! It's Merry and Pippin, the lads who can come up with anything! And yes, I think they will be afraid of dogs now, too. Poor guys.

Oh goody! Gandalf's going to give the lads one last chance to get even before he pulls the rug out from under them all and leaves them all with egg on their faces! *snicker* I don't know what he's discovered about that map, but somehow I think *everyone* is going to be immensely embarassed.

And I don't blame him for hauling Aragorn off by one ear. The Ranger should have had more sense than that--his prank was potentially dangerous. He's definitely regressing to childhood here not to realize that. And if Frodo finds out, he's *really* going to regret it, because as we all know, Frodo's not that fond of dogs. Especially big dogs chasing hobbits...

Author Reply: Gandalf is all for them ending on even footing. Because yes, everyone is going to be sheepish when he does speak up!

Aragorn just gave them a good scare. I don't think hte dogs would really have eaten the hobbits...just their pants! :)
