If I had a Hammer  by Grey Wonderer 13 Review(s)
Baggins BabeReviewed Chapter: 16 on 10/23/2005
Ah! The great wheelbarrow project is unveiled at last! I love how the gossip soon has the wheelbarrow much larger and with more additional features than Pippin and Sam could ever have thought of. Funny how this always happens with rumour.

I loved Pip saying that he 'almost' hit Sam with the hammer! Good thing Sam's reactions are faster than old Tobias. I was delighted to see Sam receive the praise he deserved, and I'm glad they had such a splendid celebration.

Looking forward to another update soon, and I think I know who will be receiving the wheelbarrow! Now if we could find out why Pip won't sleep in his bed...........

Author Reply: Ah, another person with the answer to 'who is getting the wheelbarrow'! I wonder if you're right. You'll have to let me know.
I thought that Sam deserved a bit of praise for his patience and I am guessing the the rumor of his new 'carpentry business' will get back to him as well. Everyone else is talking about it. Thanks for reviewing!

Oh that was so sweet and funny! Sounds like they really celebrated Pippin's work properly. And Sam surely got more praise than he expected.
The describtion of the old tutor's worries was really funny. Maybe his students won't take all prices this year.. just like that dark year when Sam participated.
I still enjoy this very much. Now there's only a few mysteries we need to solve. Like Pippin's sleeping habits, Merrys dreams and how the wheelbarrow is judged at the fair..

Please update soon!

Author Reply: I love it when Sam gets praise and credit for what he has done because he is so humble all of the time. He is a hard worker and he has been very patient with Pippin so he deserves his share of praise. I also thought that it was about time that Pippin's ego got a build-up. He'd been feeling pretty low about things for a while. And Tobias deserves to know that he isn't the only one in the Shire that can teach carpentry. LOL Thanks for reading and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Now you had better not let that Tobias Tunnelly lay so much as a pinkie finger on Pip's beautiful wheelbarrow. I hope Pip kicks butt at the Fair, most especially Mr. Tobias "No one knows carpentry like I do" Tunnelly!

I am glad for the gossipy Proudfoots, though. TT is going to have some of his own sleepless nights I hope.

I was tickled pink at Frodo's and Merry's reaction to it, especially Merry's obvious and sincere appreciation of his little cousin's ingenuity--those extra wheels are just the kind of thing an inventive fellow like Merry *would* appreciate.

And I am fairly certain I've guessed who Pippin will be giving the wheelbarrow to...

Author Reply: I can't wait to see if you've guessed correctly. I felt like having a celebration myself because the wheelbarrow was finally finished. LOL I did think that both Sam and Pippin deserved a night out and what better way to celebrate a wheelbarrow than to eat enough food to fill one?
Tunnely will be back for the fair at least if not before. I do like to have the hobbits run wild with a story so the gossip part was fun to write. Thanks for reading and more will be up soon!
