| "His heart lay always in the Shire." Oh my, what a moving story. I can't think of any destiny 'Strider' would choose than to forever guard his beloved hobbits and their lands. Author Reply: I hope Strider spent some of eternity with his wife, family and friends, but I think he would have appeared when needed, and guarding his hobbits would have been both a duty and a joy.
