Yes, the epitome of the stubborn Baggins line here, Frodo insistent on being responsible, Bilbo insistent on being responsible for his own lad. Author Reply: Oh yes. I didn't realize that. :D Thank you so much for your feedback, Larner. ^_^

The image of Frodo being wrapped in a shroud as a defense against cold is a chilling one. But he is apparently half floating in the peace he finds at the moment. Author Reply: He is in the peace. Thank goodness. Thank you, Larner!

And so the unfamiliar becomes jarring. Holocaust survivors found that they felt fully alive while in the camps, perhaps because their adrenaline flow was kept at peak level to keep them alert to danger for so long. As a result, return to a "normal" life seemed terribly grey, for they appeared to have burnt out their ability to feel strong emotions, particularly strong pleasure, which after all is part of what keeps us willing to face another day after having lived with disappointments and so on. Author Reply: So that's why. At first I thought those kinds of people somehow missed the situation where they had to be alert. But that's not the case, of course. Btw, thank you for reading and commenting, Larner!
