Yes, Sam is already wise when it comes to the young master.

Author Reply: *smiles fondly* Yes, I have always liked to imagine Sam as always being that caring, sweet, gentle, perceptive person that we see in the Fellowship. ANd I get to play around with him as a child! What fun! :) The friendship future master and future gardener share is remarkable - or so I would guess. :)And now to bed! Namarie!

A joyful reunion here.

Ah, so he gave up riding, did he? Interesting! And perhaps Sam and Merry together can get him back into it. I hope so.

Author Reply: Riding was too painful for him after his father died. But now that he has come - or is comeing -to terms with that grief, he can take up something that truly was enjoyable to him. I think it will be *Frodo* that helps *Sam* learn. :) Namarie!

Learning to fit in as the new lad isn't easy, I know. But he's doing a better job than he thinks, I believe.

Author Reply: I speak from experience, fitting in as the "new kid" is the hardest, lonliest thing to do. Especially in a new place. And Frodo is very friendly and polite and easy to talk to...so he will do fine. But it will take time to really make some friends. Namarie!

Other than Folco being Frodo's first cousin once removed with Frodo as Drogo's son and Folco as Dudo's grandson via Daisy (as you've written it), this is very well done indeed. Folco's a wonderful lad, and now Frodo's going to meet another cousin, although I can't fully remember the ins and outs of that relationship. Via the Tooks, IIRC.

Author Reply: Hannon le! It's nice to hear that my work is enjoyed. :)
Namarie!

Only one correction--as Daisy Boffin is daughter to Dudo Baggins, Frodo's uncle, he ought to be aware of her and her husband Griffo. Many write Folco as their son, although the family tree doesn't include Folco at all, so I put him slightly sideways as a cousin via both Tooks and Boffins.

Very glad Frodo stood up to Lotho, and that Griffo championed him and offered protection to him and the two Gamgees.

Author Reply: *blushing* Oh dear! I suppose you're right. I shall look into it when I am not tired from doing school all day and then babysitting my...ahem...incessant little brother all night. THose family connections can be...mind boggling, to say the least. If you are tired and your brain is not funcioning correctly. But hannon le for pointing that out. :) I could use all the help I can get.

I'm glad Frodo stood up to LothoPimple too. And poor Frodo after taking a beating and then being several sizes smaller and a few years younger needed help. :) Namarie!

And two caring souls find one another that day.

Author Reply: Yes! It was hard to decide exactly how Frodo and Sam meet for the very first time. SO many cute bunnies hopping about my brain...:)
Hannon le!

Sweet lad that he is, and already realizing Bilbo is the one who loves him most as he needs to be loved.

Author Reply: Hannon le! How couldn't he realize that Bilbo loves him so much? I think the old Hobbit would be soft as butter when it came to his nephew (and first and second cousin, according to Gaffer Gamgee). Catching up, are we? I was rather shocked when I had nine reviews all on the same story! But I like it:)
Namarie!

Ah, indeed, that he is. Frodo the Ringbearer he'll be, although he'll pay the price for his fame, and those he did it for will understand it the least.

Author Reply: It is rather tragic, that those he did it for will understand the least, as you so elegantly put it. But Frodo was willing all the same. And he will pay a great price, but hopefully he will still go to find the needed healing in the West. Namarie!

So he has his pony and love and all that good stuff! Glad he had some memories about his father and though it hurt, it was good to remember too. That scene was very well done. Glad you settled on that name for his pony. Merry was cute too!

Namarie, God bless, Im mil le, Antane :)

Author Reply: Hannon le for the help with the naming of the pony! Yes, he has his pony. My pony rather. Or the one I've always wanted. It is bittersweet to remember some things. Trust me, I know. I love doing young Merry, but young Pippin will be the best because I have this incessent bundle of energetic inspiration in my younger brother! He even has breathtaking green eyes that can tell you exactly how his misheif little mind is working! He's so sweet, too. :) I'm gonna go hug him! LOL! Glad you liked the story..er, chapter.
