Forging of the Ringbearer: Part 1: A New Life  by Frodo Baggins 46 Review(s)
ElemmírëReviewed Chapter: 8 on 8/31/2006
Frodo smiled wanly. "You’re welcome. I just...I wish I could give you everything you ever wanted, but you already have everything."

*Sighs in contentment* That is such a very sweet and noble sentiment.

Very lovely chapter and I'm glad Frodo was able to enjoy the memories of his father that his new pony evoked.

Author Reply: Hannon le! I had fun with this chapter. :) I am so glad you enjoyed this. Namarie!

*grin* I love it! What a beautiful pony! Sounds like he's got a sweet personality too. And if Merry finds Gil-Galad a bit hard to pronounce, he can always shorten it to one of the two parts of the name-Gil or Galad. :) This was absolutely wonderful, Frodo, and I can definitely appreciate how wonderful it is to be surprised with something you love and miss more than you realise! :) God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Yes, I thought that I would grace Frodo with the pony I've always wanted. Dreamy, isn't he (er, the pony, that is)? And yes, I need a pony if I am to have any equine for my own. Those tall horses are just...too tall. :) THough I will name mine Strider.Good idea about Merry! I just had a horrible thought - Gil galad will have to die in a future chapter!! I'm just heart broken! *sniff* I'm glad you liked this. Namarie!

Sam is so wise for one so young. Frodo did indeed give Bilbo the best present of all, and it's a gift he'll continue to give throughout their lives. Merry is so cute! :) (But if Frodo is turning twenty-two, the year should be 1391.) I just know the next chapter is going to be bittersweet, but I can't wait! I love the joy of this.
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Oops! I thought I replied to this. Forgive me, Lady. Yes, Sam is very wise indeed. I love the little sweety! I changed Frodo's age. Thanks for the tip! Namarie! God Bless,

Sam is very wise for one so young. HeHe, just as Frodo can be a little dense at times when it comes to certain matters. And little Merry is too cute for words!

You already gave him what no treasure or money can buy, Mr. Frodo."

Frodo looked at his young friend puzzedly. "What’s that?"

"You gave him someone to love, and you love him back. No matter how much money he has in that Hill, it could never buy him someone to love and the cherish the way he loves and cherishes you, if you understand me."

I can't wait to see Frodo's reaction to being the proud new owner of a pony!

Author Reply: Ah, Elemmire,
Mae Govannen! I agree that Sam was very wise when he was young. ;) Hey! Watch it! No, just teasing. I guess he can be a little dense in certain areas. :) YOu won't have to wait too much longer to see his reaction! Hannon le for the enthusiastic review! Namarie!
God Bless,

Ah, sweet Sam, looking after his treasure... I think I'd be just as good at town ball as Frodo - so happy to have something more in common with him, even this! :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane

Author Reply: LOL! Well...as his Town Ball experience was written purely from first hand experiences, I suppose you and I have that in common as well! I am like an oaf with any kind of ball! And my dad was a real athlete, too. As Billy Boyd said, "I have a gift for [ball], I just haven't opened it and given it to myself." LOL!! Thanks for reviewing.

Oh, this is wonderful! New friends, and soon, a pony!! Poor Frodo, though, I know how the ball thing feels. *sigh* The only ball I was ever good at was "beep ball" (basically baseball adapted for the blind), and oh! I loved it! But I don't think I'll take it up again, even so. I just love the life you put into this. Fabulous, my dear! Can't wait for more!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: I'm so glad you're back "in the Loop", to use the expression. Yes, soon a pony. Still debating a name though... Trust me, the ball thing came from first hand experience many, many times. It was *so* humiliating. I didn't want to be the sissy, so I played anyway, even though I knew good and well I couldn't do it good. I was never passed the ball. It's hard though, when you're trying to fit in, but the only thing everyone does is something you're not good at. Beep ball sounds fun!! LOL! I'm glad you liked it! Namarie!

Oooh! Frodo's got new friends! *bounces happily* I like Folco already! I want to find out what happens next, only, I'm going to be away for the next month. *sigh* (Well, I'm not really going away, I'm just taking a break from Fanfic. I left a note on my story "The Latter Days") I'll read it all when I come back!
God bless,
Ellie

Author Reply: Oh, I will miss you! I may be taking a break as well. I didn't find chapter 26, though. Sorry! I'm glad you like it! I had to give Frodo a friend. Five months of loneliness is quite enough, I think. :( I know how it feels. Anyway, I will await your return with anticipation! Namarie!

Cute ending! I'm surprised Sam hasn't been there at Bag End every minute already. :) Good his gaffer sorted out all that guilt he had.

Namarie, God bless, Antane

Author Reply: Sam's been wanting to be there, but he's been working with the Gaffer and worrying about him being the cause of Frodo's fight. Yes, I imagine that Gaffer was a good father and gently helped his children to figure out their own problems, giving them a little hint when they need it. :) Like Frodo, Sam tends too feel guilty about everything. Hannon le for reviewing! Namarie!

Oh, poor Frodo!! I hope that healer gets there soon so Bilbo can stop worrying. That's true--the lack of protest at sending for a healer would make him worry all the more about the extent of Frodo's injuries. It certainly sounds like Lotho did a number on the poor dear. I would NOT want to be Lotho when Bilbo gets ahold of him.

Looking forward to Frodo and Folco's meeting, as well.

Author Reply: My dear Elemmire,
That is a beautiful name! My Elvish is a bit rusty, so would you mind terribly telling me what it means?
Yes, That Loatho did do Frodo in, but Frodo fought back, as you'll see later. Hannon le for reviewing! Namarie!

At last another chapter!!! Love that bear hug the most of course. :) And what a nice surprise to hear from the queen too! Does that mean it's okay to start writing Frodo again? It's been so long since I've heard from him and I miss him.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Oh, Antane! I am so glad to hear from you again!! I've been missing you too. Er...Frodo and I have, or...yeah. :) Oh, I know. It was wonderful to hear from her. I can't believe that she actually had the chance to read and review! I was so pleased. Frodo says he would love to write you again. HOwever, Sam will be out of it for a while, for he is on some long forestry business and won't be back for another two weeks. Hannon le for reviewing. And I apologize for the long delay! Namarie!
God Bless,
Frodo Baggins
