The announcement of the pregnancy was touching. I loved being pregnant, so this made me all happy to read. But the image of the twins disappearing into the forest's shadows was very strong. You're so good with that kind of thing, Bodkin. Thranduil is a hoot. He can't seem to help being bossy even when he's not in charge. He's wicked to make that remark about how well Legolas and Elerrina should know one another before the ceremony. It's interesting to think of these elves, for whom history is such a weight, starting to look forward again. I liked Legolas's claim that the children of men were more similar than different and worthy of love. Poor Haldir! LOL Author Reply: Yes, I agree - I enjoyed pregnancy. Child-rearing, now ... (Actually that was fine too. Expensive, though.) The poor twins are in a bad way - it has featured a few times, but they haven't really had their recovery detailed much. I'm afraid they're getting better off-stage. (I find the descriptive bits the easy parts to do! Those sentences usually arrive first trip through and remain unchanged. Action, though...) Thranduil is used to being in charge! Oropher's been gone a long, long time - and trying to convince a pig-headed Noldo that he should let his daughter marry Legolas isn't exactly what he's used to. Legolas has known far more children of men than he has elflings - at least since he reached adulthood. And small, loving and vulnerable is small, loving and vulnerable. Haldir will cope! | |
