Dreamflower's Mathoms II  by Dreamflower 12 Review(s)

Excellent reasoning for Merry, and the perfect reassurance for Pippin.

Nice brief look at our favorite duo.

Author Reply: Yes. Book-verse, unlike movie-verse, they did not deliberately set out to lure the Orcs away; yet the movies did show their spirits--it is just what they *would* have done, had it been necessary in the book. But they had to have worried about what had happened to the others as they were being "Orc-drug" across Rohan. And I think that it wouldn't have been hard for Merry to work it out, and make Pippin feel better.

It was rather short. I had hoped to do something a bit longer with the scene, but a reading of the chapter showed me there wasn't really a long enough gap for it.

How sweet! I have always loved that scene in the movie- where Merry and Pippin realize Frodo isn't coming, and they jump out and lure the orcs away. How sweet! And, Happy Birthday, Dana!! May your day be filled with blessings and joy! Namarie!
God Bless,
Frodo Baggins

Author Reply: It is one of the few scenes in the movies where we are *shown* just how much they care about Frodo--it makes up for a lot.

I'm glad you enjoyed this! Thank you!
