Winds of Change  by Lady Bluejay 50 Review(s)

Well, Eomer's noble intentions are all well and good but I think his regret, if Lothiriel accepts a proposal from Beren, will be very hard to bear.He has to make a move and let her know that he wants her to be his partner in life, not just a Queen.Hurry, Eomer!

I did laugh at Eomer's sauciness in making Lothiriel blush and he seems to have won over Erchirion, even after the wine incident!

I think Eomer's going to be a little nervous when Lothriel meets with Beren and his father and no doubt Eowyn will take him to task about his hesitancy.

I can't wait for the next chapter as I'm enjoying this story so much.Update soon!

Author Reply: He is a bit impulsive but he's only known her 2 days - quick even for him don't you think!

Erchirion was just a bit dissapointed - he naturally wants his sister to marry his friend. But he likes Eomer and the wine thing is something he would do himself!

I bet he could make a lot of ladies blush. Thanks for the review. LBJ

"I will not have any woman forced to marry me against her inclinations.”

Well, it's a noble thought - but perhaps you had better mention it to her! I doubt Lothiriel's psychic - and, if she doesn't know Eomer is strongly moved to make her his bride, she's not going to factor that into her thoughts! I doubt he would have to make a declaration just yet.

He does make his mind up quickly, doesn't he! Faramir is a worthy brother-in-law and Lothiriel will make the perfect wife. All in twenty-four hours. Fortunately, he's right on both counts.

Author Reply: Let's hope somebody mentions it to her! Finding time alone with her would be a problem.

He does make his mind up quickly: about Lothiriel and about Faramir. He is a warrior and has to think fast and also a warrior knows there is no time to waste in anything. Hesitate and it may be all over!LBJ

A good dance. Seems as if Eomer is making decided progress - Lothiriel is as interested as he is. Three dances and a walk in the gardens - that's practically a declaration!

Why don't they just take the whole of Minas Tirith on this morning ride though? Eomer will be very fortunate to get the time to speak to either Faramir or Lothiriel at this rate. They'll just have to find other opportunities. Still - at least he thinks he has Imrahil on his side. Paternal approval will definitely be a help - although brotherly protection might be a bit of a nuisance.

Author Reply: It may be two steps foward one step back. The trouble is he is just too principled. LBJ

Aha, we do have difficulties finding privacy around the feast hall, don't we? And Merry and Pippin have stolen a tray full of food, have they? Again, the story grows in interest and pleasure. Now to see the two of these commit themselves to one another.

Author Reply: You may have to wait a bit - but not long, as he only has eight days. LBJ

I love the details of the raids on the pie platter during Faramir's speech. How hilarious! And Imrahil's clothing must have been a sight to see with syllabub and fool all over it.

Eomer did well at discouraging Erchirion and Beren, I must say. Very perceptive of him to realize how to convince them NOT to go along after all.

Yes, after many of the shocks Eomer is getting right now, he needs a glass of wine right now. At least he now knows with whom he's been flirting, and realizes she may indeed have been flirting back! Poor guy--he's smitten and half taken already! He may as well give up.

I really enjoyed this chapter, especially Eomer's disarming of Erchirion after he called Lothiriel by her pet name.He is a King after all and Lothiriel didn't mind.A confidant Eomer in pursuit of his goals is very, very attractive!

The series of dances were lovely in their description and I laughed at Eomer's eagerness to claim Lothiriel for every one with close contact---though it seems that Lothiriel relishes the touching, too. Now, who wouldn't? No wonder Imrahil is watching them thoughtfully!

Now, if I was Lothiriel and Eomer spoke to me so passionately about my hair then I would probably faint! The fact that Lothiriel smiled at him was very sweet and Eomer has truly been snared, quite willingly, by Imrahil's daughter.

Oh, and elves can be sneaky, too.The wine tasting was hilarious and I hope Beren is out of it for the morning ride.I can't wait to read more.

Update soon.

Author Reply: I am not sure he realises he's been snared though. Let's hope Gimli and Legolas have done their stuff! LBJ

Ha, I loved this chapter! I was so happy to see an update.

Now, what did I love about this chapter? Let me see... Gandalf's riddles, Eomer's confusion,Eomer's concern for Frodo, his almost drooling over Lothiriel, Pippin and Merry's covert eating habits, Aragorn's knowing looks and last of all--Eomer's heart-stopping realisation that Lothiriel may love another.Dun dun duuun!! *That* was certainly unexpected and made Eomer realise that he better get his skates on if he wants Lothiriel for himself. The riding excursion should be *very* interesting.

Keep up the excellent work and I can't wait for more.

Ali.

Author Reply: You seem to have liked all of it then - I am glad. It's not only Eomer that has self doubts - sometime it,s authors as well. Thanks for the review. LBJ

Poor Eomer! Self doubt does not become him. Just as his mood lifts, kersplam he's back down. Maybe Lothiriel isn't Amrothos's sweetheart - but she might love AN Other.

This riding party is going to take up half the population of Minas Tirith soon! Eomer won't get a chance to talk to Faramir at all - he'll be too busy stewarding the party. And Lothiriel will avoid that intent Eomer King stare - always providing the drooling doesn't put her off anyway.

Thing are moving nicely. I'm not surprised Gandalf is amused!

Author Reply: I have a feeling that the riding party will get even bigger! Yes, its funny Eomer has never doubted himself before it just shows the afeect a woman can have!LBJ
