Rereading the end of this over the last few days got to me so much I just had to sneak over to the other site and read the next story as far as it goes, (again!)for a comfort fix.

If I get the sack I'm blaming you! :) *g*

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm sorry you found the story upsetting but am touched and surprised it could have such an effect.I found writing the sequel comforted me too. I hope the boss doesn't find out !

Aragorn is unleashing the full might of the Kingship on the evil men who betrayed and hurt him; and it's certainly high time! Good for him, sparing Fontos; and rewarding Damrod and Bereth, not to mention acceding to Arwen's sensible request for a quicker death for Dervorin.

Now he needs some nice sleeping pills, or to read some crop reports or something.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Aragorn seems to maintain his good sentese and wisdom with everyone save poor Faramir so it seems !

I am glad that Damrod got his rewarded even though he tries to defend Faramir.

One query or small niggle from me is the word 'henchmen'. I don't know why but it just feels wrong to me - too melodramatic or corny may be? Perhaps 'cohort' perhaps.

But I don't know why I am quibbling over one word when I am enjoying the whole so much.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review and suggestion. I have changed 'hencemen' to cohorts' and agree it sounds much better. I'm so pleased you are enjoying the story.I'm so pleased you are enjoying the story, just one chapter left.

Uh-oh, Aragorn is getting very obsessive, his thoughts turning darker and into the edge of unreason. If Arwen can't help, and the Peredhil, eventually, can't help, then very bad days lie ahead for Aragorn.

Good chapter.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I found it very hard to write my beloved Aragorn like this, teetering on the edge of madness.

You know it's a bad sign when Aragorn decides to stop being a healer. Dark days ahead, no doubt!

And of course, the nasty cliffhanger at the end of the chapter!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Aragorn is renouncing a vital part of himself, I fear.I love my cliffhangers !

Very sad that Aragorn cannot bring himself to forgive Faramir, to reach out to him with the friendship that has sustained them both in the past.

The guys both need some therapy; but Middle-earth doesn't have psychiatrists, and Gandalf, the nearest thing to it, is unavailable.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Yes I agree our poor heroes need some therapy, but only time will tell if anyone or anything in M-e will help. They need to learn they can help wach other !

Good work on the relationship between Eomer and Aragorn; you show the horse-lord's compassion and love for his friend, a love that Tolkien made a point to have Eomer articulate in ROTK.

Aragorn really needs a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a teddy bear about now.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I think Aragorn and Eomer's friendship is often neglected and wanted to show it.

The poor King badly needs something to cheer him.

I've *finally* started reading the first part of this story! I have it all printed out as one long fic and I'm never sure what chapter I'm on. Just wanted to let you know I've started it and give you at least one quick review for now. My favorite part in this chapter (aside from the surprise that Boromir has a daughter I'd forgotten) was Aragorn whispering the apology to Faramir. He knew he' hurt him but he was just so tired. Nice!

More reviews later!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm honoured you've printed it, I need to do that too !

I'm pleased you found some moments to enjoy here and was interested what you liked.

I shall look forward to more of your comments.

Use your common sense, Imrahil! If Aragorn is here - and Faramir is by his side, then chances are you read the whole situation incorrectly! (Although Aragorn's doubts - and Faramir's, when he eventually recovers - are likely to reinforce Imrahil's beliefs.)

Quiz question for those present at the king's return. Who is the person who recovered the king, treated his injuries, reunited him with his wife and son and got him here? Answers on a postcard ...

Or maybe it should be one of those multiple choice ones ...

A: Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth
B: Prince Faramir of Ithilien
C: King Eomer of Rohan

I think we know the correct response...

Whereas Aragorn ... !!! I'm giving up hope of his usual intellect shining through. His captors must have spent a lot of time rapping on his skull and succeeded in rattling his brains loose.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.
I love you quiz !I think you should send it to Aragorn !Aragorn has a lot of home truths to learn but is still too depressed/traumatised to see them.

Somebody should really tell Faramir that hanging around with Aragorn is hazardous to his health. Of course, by this time, the poor Steward has a death-wish the size of Mt. Mindolluin, but still.

They all need mithril vests. Maybe the dwarves will invent some kevlar.

Update soon; we have to see how long poor Faramir will be laid up this time; and if Aragorn will ever forgive him.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.
Maybe Faramir is currently hanging around with Aragorn because it is so bad for him.He does indeed have a death wish.
I think Arwen was hoping the silk might help a little. That's a great idea, though, mithril vests,ARagorn will have to ask Gimli for some.
