Oh...oh shirebound! How sad. Poor Pippin...and Merry and Frodo and Sam. Oh dear...running for the Kleenex box..
Namarie!
God Bless,
Frodo Baggins

Author Reply: Hang in there, my friend -- you *know* there will be a lighthearted and hobbity ending to the story, since I'm writing it. *grins*

*hugs you*

Hi, Shirebound,

Once in a great while, I used to get over to LJ and would delight when I'd find one of your plotbunnies hatched and smiling.

I'm glad I found this place and another of your delightful tales.

I'll keep watching for the rest of this! It is delightful. I very, very much like it!

Agape

Author Reply: *waves* Thank you so much. I'm so glad you're enjoying this.

“Strider, are you sure that’s just milk he’s drinking? Tooks get a bit incoherent when they hit the pubs, you know.”

LOL!!! That's wonderful! Merry only wanted to test Pippin's reaction, I think, to ensure and to comprehend that his cousin is really alright. Well, the test worked ;-)

I agree with Pippin that it was good that Merry did not arrive earlier to see Frodo and Sam in a much worse state. Even now he is shocked to see Frodo's wounds. He would have worried himself sick. (Can I say so? My dictionnary is leaving me rather alone here! I'll never stop learning English, but I like it!)

Author Reply: Your English is marvelous, Andrea. (And the rest of us are still learning, as well! I don't think it ever really stops.)

I'm glad you enjoyed this reunion scene. I like it when hobbits are reassured by knowing that the others are nearby.

Pippin smiled happily at the sight, but soon he needed to disturb Merry for something very important.

“Gimli’s back. It's time for supper!”

I wish it was here too. It feels a very long time since lunch! Just dropped in for a peep on my second busiest day of the year and couldn't resist reading straight away! Ah, just picturing relaxed and sleeping hobbits is enough to bring by blood pressure down. Thanks Shirebound, just what I needed!

Author Reply: Relaxed hobbits certainly make *me* feel more peaceful! It's a pleasure to share them with you. :D

Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 2 on 4/13/2006
The wounded Men, mindful of the privacy of the small folk, tried to look elsewhere, but the sight of their new healer-King tending to the Ring-bearers’
needs was impossible to ignore. The courageous little ones, swathed in blankets and being lovingly tended, brought smiles to the lips of the most battle-hardened
soldier.

Aragorn pressed a gentle hand to Frodo’s brow and murmured something in Elvish, whereupon Frodo sighed, obviously relaxed and peacefully dreaming.

Merry wrapped his arms around Frodo, closed his eyes, and contentedly felt his cousin’s deep, regular breathing, and the steady heartbeat.

Awwwww! What a sweet chapter! And I just love those little Frodo-Merry moments. :)

Poor Merry, so dazed, and concerned by the thinness of his cousin and friend. Pippin is obviously more comfortable, though, now that his Merry has arrived. :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: There was a real need for some Frodo cuddling, and I think Merry would definitely want to have his turn. Sometimes we have to actually feel someone in our arms to comprehend that they're there, and all right.

Thank you for highlighting so many passages!

Ah, the brightness and cheer of this version of Cormallen is wonderful!

I especially liked this part:
“Strider, are you sure that’s just milk he’s drinking? Tooks get a bit incoherent when they hit the pubs, you know.”

But it was so nice to see Beregond, and hear of Bergil, and to see Merry reassured, and Pippin "getting up" to his tricks.

Author Reply: Thank you, Lin. It's comforting to imagine "hobbits being hobbits", whatever their circumstances.
