I just wanted to leave a brief note saying how much I love all these! You've got the fairy-tale style down perfectly and manage to fit it in so well with what we know about Middle-earth!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for reading and commenting, Celeritas! I'm so glad to know that what I'm trying to do with the style(s) and Middle-Earth is working!

Beautiful! Tis always makes me wish to re read old tales! YOu always manage to keep the tone and the voice as well as the evocative rythm of ancient fairy tales. The awakening of the Ents under the stars while Yavanna and the elf sing has that quality of something very ancinet and somehow true!.

Author Reply: Hi, perelleth! I'm so glad the tales read as "ancient" and traditional--you know that's what I strive for, so am always happy to know that the language is working. Thanks for reading and stopping to comment!

Ah, a perfect Beginning tale! Yes, to see the Ents awakening!

Lovely, DrummerWench! Nice to see this added to once more.

Author Reply: Thanks again, Larner for your always encouraging comments. I do appreciate them, and I'm glad you liked this one.

how very cute! Good orc stories are hard to find.

Author Reply: Hi, ellie -
I'm glad you liked it! You're right, there are very few orc tales. I may have another one. *pokes at story seed* But don't hold your breath!

What a wonderful prologue! Ah, yes! Ah, yes indeed!

Author Reply: Hi, Larner - I'm glad you found the prologue, and that you like it! It seemed, you know, quite /likely/ to me--Sam is interested in tales, and now has traveled widely & met so many different people.
Also, thank you again for your very kind comments--I really appreciate them!

Ah, how refreshing! Greed kills the troll and betrays the orc! Very nice!

Author Reply: Yep! I couldn't let the orc profit from her little scheme, now could I? Thanks for stopping to comment, Larner!

Ah, another lovely, beautiful retelling with such an Arda-ish twist to it! And loved seeing Arwen, her mother, and her grandmother as well as her brothers there.

Author Reply: Hi, Larner! Thanks so much for stopping to review! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and that you liked my depiction of Arwen, et al. It did amuse me, too!

Ahhh, that was beautiful! I hope you write more!

Author Reply: Thanks for commenting! I do have another one coming down the pike--a Mannish tale that starts in Gondor.

Ah, how wonderful, and how it fits with Pearl Took's stories. And such a proper fairy tale it is as well.

Thank you!

Author Reply: No, no, Thank /you/! Hmm, shall have to check out Pearl's tales, as well. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

What a wonderful blend of Arda and RL fairy tales! Their quest is so very reminiscent of the tale of Beren and Luthien, yet with some major hobbity differences. And what a clever explanation of the "Took fairy wife"!

Author Reply: Thanks, Dreamflower! It's a big tossed green tales salad--a little bit of this tale, a little of that and voila! I'm glad you liked it--and the Fairy Wife part, too.
