Fairy Tales of Middle-Earth  by DrummerWench 81 Review(s)

An interesting concept for a fanfic, but one which you have carried off exceedingly well in this, the first chapter. You use the language and tone of a fairytale brilliantly well, and yet make it all fit in with canon. The dream-like quality of this story works with the concept of a fluid and wraith-like time that even Frodo and Sam remarked upon in Lothlorien. I am looking forward to the next chapter a lot. Hmm, perhaps a ghost story about the Old Forest near Buckland, about a hobbit? *grins*

Author Reply: Hi, Ming
Thanks for your comments! I actually thought about doing ghost stories, as Middle-earth is rather plentifully supplied with ghostly locales (the Dead Marshes, Paths of the Dead, Barrowdowns, to name a few). OTOH, I've been reading fairy-tales all my life, and think I have a good handle on the vocabulary, which is not the case with ghost stories. If someone else out there could do it, I'd read them! *pitches Nuzgul with high hopes*
