Stirring Rings  by Larner 11 Review(s)
SurgicalSteelReviewed Chapter: 11 on 10/6/2006
Rich with great details - interesting how Saruman's machinations always seem to end up harming someone. Also interesting that not one member of the White Council seems to really trust him - certainly not enough to tell him where the Three were bestowed.

I'm curious - I may have missed this, and if I have, please tell me - but are you familiar with 'Unfinished Tales,' that the original Elendilmir and a chain/locket sort of thing that held the One were found in Isengard? If you haven't dealt with that, do you plan to? Because I for one would find the story of how Saruman found Isildur's remains (and disposed of them, when he found nothing he thought to be of value on them) to be a fascinating read.

Author Reply: It's because of that detail about the Elendilmir and locket I originally planned to write this a year ago. It's just taken a while to get it actually posted--the first chapter was roughed out months ago. At least it's finally getting the Nuzgul out of my jewelry box, which image gave this story its title.

Now to get control of the one who's been into the tinfoil and fitting everyone with circlets and crowns.

And yes, Saruman hasn't learned discretion; and more of what he told will come back to haunt Gondor.
